I want to swap my JH thats in my mk1 jetta for a G60, but is it ok to run my 2H trans with it?
Or is it too much torque for it? Thanks

Just a fyi these trannys just make your charger work harder even when not a WOT because on the freeway in 5th gear your rpm's are so high. ideal tranny would be 16v tranny or a diesel tranny.

That's exactly my thought, but I have a diesel 5th I'm gonna drop in my 2h. Would that help at all?
If its too much risk I wanna just build the JH. But id really like to get a boost ready engine, what about running a turbo instead of the charger? Thanks

Yes if you add that 5th gear that will help big time cause its long but really good for the supercharger application cause of boost and torque. if you get a chance to pick up a 16v tranny i believe its a 9a get it. Thats what i run in my rabbit g60 swap. Runs great with that tranny.

Sweet, sounds good I talking to a guy that I might be picking his motor. Now when people do a turbo swap on those Ive searched and have read about Volvo turbos working, but anyone know if its possible with a k03 or k03s? And last what software you guys recommend? Thanks for the help

what kind of injection are your running? thats what software will depend. If you running digi 1 bahnbrenner makes a chip for turbo application.

if you do the g60 swap your going to need the wire harness from a corrado digi 1 or mega squirt standalone. if you do the digi 1 injection you can get a turbo chip or g60 chip from Bahn Brenner. Talk to Jason. He knows his ****!

Again thank you, I spoke to Jason at brenner and he advised in a T3 turbo, since the motor I'm looking at doesnt have the charger. So now I'm just waiting to see if the wiring is from a digi 1 which I hope it is. And here's a little taste I got lucky and grabbed this off Craigslist, picked it up last night

Freshly rebuilt with Garrett internals with 0 miles since rebuild

Nice. Should be fun & Quick. Had a buddy that had the g60 turbo set up. it was about 200hp. and in a rabbit 200hp is silly since the car is like 1800lbs! Power to wait Ratio gotta love it!

I am in the process of doing a G60 swap on a cabby using the cabby trannny and had a question about what torque to use on the pressure plate bolts to the crank.

The torque spec for the pressure plate on an 8v is 30 Nm vs. the torque spec on the G60 is 60 Nm.

What torque spec did you use?
