chinese headlight fix

ok from wire harness to headlight pin 4& 7 go to 10 , 5 to 5 & 7 , 6 to 6 , 8 to 11 , 10 to 9 . now run a wire to the other light tap into 4 & 7 from the wire harness .go in to vcds click on select click on 9 cent elect click on coding -7 now click on long coding now start from the left to right now on the right there is a box that says byte go to byte 14 click on box 3 byte 15 box 6 byte 17 box 2 byte 25 box 2 & 7 byte 27 box 2 now close that out witch will bring you to the screen that says do it click on that it will say code accept click on that and its done now this part may happen when you start your car u may get a bulb out just turn off and on your headlights or turn on and off your parking lights like i said it may happen it may not sometimes it happens to me sometimes it dont my friend still has to work on that part but he has a idea how to fix it

The LEDs are not bright but what can u do it's strange if u sit in the car with the key on with out the engine running and u start the car I will get a bulb out if I start it real fast it does not happen.at least this will help some people.i would not like to help one particular person unlike him I choose not to be a prick

Jimmy, did you try to raise the light voltage on the low beam?

I am using a custom HID kit and I had very similar problem with the light bulb issue during car starts (also flickers with Hi beam). After I made the VCDS adjustment on 09 long coding, all issues were resolved. I think its the 20th bit on the long coding and by default its set to 86 (85% output), I changed mine to 80.

no i didnt but i am not getting a low beam out i am getting a marker light or a drl out but it does not happen all the time

Also, is there an option to have the LEDs off when the xenon headlights are on? In the video it looks like the running lights are on all the time.

Sorry I don't have pics of the wire harness. I don't know about the drls being off with the hids and as for the the parking light I really didn't look into them but now I am

I just looked at the Chinese headlight the running lights are on so that's how they are from the factory

I'm not sure we've ever been this close to having reproducible success on this install. Exciting!

Like Jimmy I have an intermittent bulb-out warning for either the side marker or DRL. Most of the time there's nothing. I did increase the voltage on heads & tails from 12.8 to 13.2. Probably not necessary, but I heard all the kids were doing it so ...


I'm happy to do a DIY on building harnesses for the headlights & tail lights, with all the part numbers needed, if someone's willing to commission the build. I'm not looking to make anything on it, but I've already shelled out some dough on trial & error with harness plugs and repair wire kits. Of course, he who commissions the build receives a set of completed harnesses.

That's where these lights came from. We all got in on a group buy to get these back in February and several lights came in damaged. We thought they were getting damaged in shipping which could have too but we suspect that those headlights and taillights are factory rejects. A few of use including myself discovered cracked housing that had been repaired with silicone on them and some even have plastic debris inside the housing behind the lenses. So order them at your own risk. That site also has the adapter harnesses and if your interested I ordered a wood shift knob from there too. It does take some time to get that stuff from china and you also have to use a buying agent to buy stuff. I used taobaoenglish as my agent they will send pics to you of what you ordered before they ship to the states. So good luck if you do decide to order them.

How are the lights working on high beam? Everything functioning properly with the shutter? Would be nice to see video of the lights switching between low and high beam? Do the daytime running lights switch off properly when you go to high beam?

Sorry I left out one thing when u do the vcsd the drl voltage has to be put at 105

That is byte 24 set drl intensity to 105% and also there is a box in the same byte to use drl as side position markers. That solved my drl flicker and bulb but I still get the bulb out messege for side marker light out.
