So just put in a really stiff front sway bar?

So I did the VR strut mount upgrade from GAP.
http://www.germanautoparts.com/Volks...spension/198/2
I realized that after I did everything that the suspension unloads and the top hats rattle. It only happens when I go over holes in the road, it seems like for that instant of a second the rubber bushing drops and the suspension is then cought by the hat.
Any ideas why this might be happening, should I have a front sway bar to help balance the drop on the front a-arms?

are you using Bilstein, Koni, or Corrado G60 struts like the kit says you need to use? If youre not using those struts, then theyre not gonna fit correctly without the special adapter that Rapid Parts use to sell with their VR6 strut conversion....but I'd first make sure you put things together properly

Thanks for the help, all is assembled properly.
I am using KYB's in the front, the part number for corrado/mk2 struts is the same?

Part Number 235614 for Corrado and Jetta Mk2
I am not sure if this is the issue but I have a hunch it could be the right path.....

have you completely taken it apart yet? it should be fairly obvious once you get it apart....do you have all the items listed in the above parts diagram?

I'm using the same kit minus the lower metal cup thing with h&r coilovers, no rattling or anything.

I have taken it apart about 10 times, its per the diagram.
The only thing I really notice is when I jack up the car the suspension droops (normal), I think this is my noise tho when I hit negative bumps ( unload instead of compress ) the suspension drops and rattles.
I will be evaluating again after work tonight.

Do the top hats turn while you turn the wheels? If not; the spring may be binding when turning and then unleashing when you hit some bumps. Even still, after a while that bushing should get stuck in there good enough to not bounce around anymore.
You could also wrap some hose under the top hat

Thats exactly what appears to be happening the rubber bushing isn't staying in its housing when the suspension becomes unloaded, I have zero issues when driving with with compressible bumps.
