1976 Fiat 126 P

1976 Fiat 126P Ginster Yellow (factory Fiat color) with black interior, 44,138 original kilometers (27,586 miles), 4 speed manual. Brought back to "new" condition at 36,493 kilometers in 2007 using original Fiat parts/panels and everything that could have been replaced was. Car was built as an art project headed personally by Wlodek Pawluczuk (5 time Polish rally champion). It is period correct with all chrome original pieces with added tasteful details available on the 126 line - roof antenna, rear fog and reverse light, pop out rear windows, factory R wide wheels, left and right mirrors, mud flaps, factory seat belts, H4 headlights with city/parking lights, tinted windshield, original radio. Has also the original 600cc 24hp engine with synchronized 4 speed gearbox. If one wanted a new Fiat 126p had unlimited resources and the knowledgeable experts to make it happen this would be the result. Upgraded with lower stiffer springs/shocks, sport clutch, momo corse steering wheel (original will be included along with a collection of miscellaneous spare parts). It performs as new - can be driven daily anywhere. I am the third owner of the car since new and second in the US. Spare tire, jack, original tool kit and owners manual in excellent condition. It recently won the chairman's choice award at the 40th Annual Polish Heritage Festival. The condition and history surrounding this 126 make it one of a kind and the only one in the US.

I have over 40 high resolution photographs including detailed undercarriage shots. I have enjoyed this particular car tremendously and are ready to pass it on to the next lucky person.

I have been on vortex a long time and I know some of us like to voluntary submit our input and practice our valuation skills at will. No offense meant or taken - I don't think most people will understand what went into making this particular car possible, how rare it actually is both in history and this condition especially in the U.S. and that is quite alright. It's value is very subjective and I am sure to those not familiar with what it is and why it is something extremely unique the price is astronomical.

With that said if/when I do pass the Fiat to it's next owner the price will not be the at the top of the list of deciding to sell it or not.

The car is listed here not so much to sell but to give other genuine enthusiasts with a diverse taste in automobiles such as myself an opportunity to see and appreciate something they have not seen before and very likely not going to see in a long time - if ever.

my parents had 3 of these back 'in the old country'. one chrome bumper, one plastic bumper and one of the 'plus' models. pretty much Poland's most important car.

your's is immaculate. pretty sure ive never seen one that nice. if shipping wasnt 10x the cost of the car I would have imported one here too :/ ($200 car, $2000+ to ship to US)

Thanks for the kind words - the 126 is a cult car from the magical years of European cars right up there with the vw beetle, mini, the original 500, the citroen 2cv and to anyone from Italy or Poland (and most of Eastern Europe) it a very sentimental and emotional thing to see.

It costs about $3k to bring in something like this from the old continent then you have to title it....

Yes but our economy is based on supply and demand. This car may be unique and very very clean but when a slim amount of demand is out there then prices like that are a little extreme.

Exactly why you are wrong. I have no desire to turn this into a debate but 17+ years of buying and selling cars has taught me one major economic lesson. You can never economize emotion in a sale.

I hope you understand what I mean. If not, plainly stated- If someone wants and can make it happen, it WILL happen.

Yes but just let him try... The price is high that's for sure. But high for me and for you. If the right buyer is out there and looking for a car like this, I am pretty sure that they can agree on the price somehow. If not that's his decision to lower the price or not. That's my 2 cents.

I know still not a correct paint for the year
ginster was used in the 80's
btw 2nd most popular ( by popular i mean wanted since u didnt have a say on what color you would get) next to fiat 125p Bahama yellow

also people commenting on the price
they are very few 70's fiats out there
this one apart for few period incorrect parts ( plastic mirrors and popout rear windows ) and the wrong color well not wrong just a bit better then the dull yellow they had in 76, is the most sorted 126 Ive ever seen

there is another one for sale in Poland same year for about half that but this one has all the paper work sorted and its here . 18k is not that far off

Now if that was 73 126p made with Italian parts the price would be double whats hes asking
