Why don't you look at the end of your clutch lever and see if the cable's "nub" is still there? If it's not, of you can pull it out without any tension, your cable has sh!t the bed.
If it is there, check up at the top of the pedal. there is a little grommet that holds your cable to the pedal that is notorious for sh!tting the bed. easy enough to fix without any tools, mine has been ziptied up for about 3 years now.
