Thread: FS: Custom Amplifier Rack and Subwoofer Enclosure for MKIV GTi or Golf

For Sale: Custom Amplifier Rack and Subwoofer Enclosure out of our 2000 GTi.

This car and the audio system won 4 years of national championships in USACi Sound Quality competitions. The car has been sold and now I would like to sell the amp rack and sub enclosure. The amplifiers and subwoofer are still in my possession but I don't wish to part with them unless the price is right ($1500 for all 3 amps and subwoofer).

These are located in northern DFW area. I would prefer for someone to come pick them up but delivery can be arranged for a fee.

    Sub enclosure - $150
3.75 cf - port tuned to 34 hz. Built specifically for Focal 40KX but I'm sure other 15's would sound great as well.
Lower half is made from 3/4" MDF, top is fiberglass & duraglass. There is so much extra clay and sound deadening in this enclosure that it weighs about 75 lbs without sub. The vinyl was professionally done with a thin layer of padding underneath to give it a little 'give' to the touch.

    Amp rack - $150
End plates are 1/8" steel plate, tubes are 2" steel pipes, amp mounting plates are 1/8" steel. All visible welds are fully smoothed out. Flat black paint on the ends, silver on the tubes. The amp mounting plates are 15" x 8-3/4" (usuable dimensions). I have templates for the amp mounting plates so if you want to do plexi and light it up, you can.

Please email me at - monte (dot) bennett (at) gmail (dot) com. This VW Vortex account is my wife's and she will not respond quickly.

If anyone out there is interested in this amplifier rack and subwoofer enclosure, please contact me. I am willing to negotiate on the price so that I can get it out of my garage.
