Thread: Dat Hass

  1. 07-11-2012 11:18 PM #1
About 5 weeks ago I decided I was gonna take a few days and go to Seattle to be alone with my thoughts and some film.

About 4 weeks ago I decided I wanted to take something else with me other than the Leica, so I bought a Hasselblad.

About 3 weeks ago I went to Seattle, stayed in a Hostel for 2 nights and shot about 60 rolls of film (40 of 120, 20 of 35mm)

About 2 weeks ago I had developed all of my film and had no real way to look at it.

About 1 hour ago I said F it, drove to Staples and bought a V500.

About 30 minutes ago I made my first scan, here it is.

I'll probably upload some more images and post them in here at some point.

It's alright, better than the POS V330 I had. But I really only used that for Polaroid and the like. It's sharp enough and has a high enough optical DPI for anything I'll ever do. Plus if I did any serious inkjet printing I would get the neg drum scanned anyway.

It still does seem to struggle with a true black though. Not sure how to deal with that but I've only had it a few days.

Not too many more. I'll probably upload a few tomorrow and then on to a new thread of crap!

Some nice shots there, B&W works so well for the tones in Seattle and the naturally gray skies (I moved from SEA to PHX after almost 30 years)

Not sure why, but this one is cool with me:

Make it a bit more dynamic in post and it could be really cool me thinks (looks a bit under-exposed).

    Thank you?

I don't do any PP work. I like to stay out of Photoshop as much as possible.
