Thread: Aircooled VW shop Northish Phoenix....

  1. 07-12-2012 02:02 AM #1
As my close friends and family know I have always wanted to open a VW shop, after 10 years in the military we settled here in Phoenix and discovered Karls Custom and our dream was put on hold because back then you could not top Karls. As the years went by I enjoyed 15 years with Home Depot, started a successful transmission shop and other ventures. It wasn't until late January an offer came my way to purchase the rights to the Karls Custom name, how could I pass this up????? So after all the legal hooplah and paperwork we started to rebuild the Karls business.
Karls Custom VW is returning.....new owners, new location, whole new attitude. We will strive to continue the wonderful legacy Karl has created. With his blessings and good wishes we now take his dreams and love for this hobby and combine them with our own. Our every intention is to bring Karls Custom back to the Volkswagen world. Our love for everything VW and strong friendships in the local scene will no doubt make an instant positive impact.......We look forward to serving our friends and families not only in Arizona but across the country. Please leave us any requests, or questions here or email at karlscustomdubs@yahoo.com We will open our doors Saturday July 14th here in Central/North Phoenix....as we all know it is too damn hot to do a huge gtg style grand opening here in July so we are planning a huge shindig in September, but please come by and check us out......

So awesome to hear! I drove by Karl's everyday on the way to high school and always loved seeing the cars that they had parked outside. I wish you much luck and success. Hopefully I'll be a customer one day, I love me some aircooleds.

Good luck with your endeavor. Do you plan to sell parts only or have a shop as well?
Would the person who took the step ladder yesterday please bring it back or further steps will be taken

This is awesome! Karl's Custom was huge back in the early 90's when I was in high school. I had several friends that worked there. Glad to hear this is coming back. Good luck sir!

Stopped by there yesterday. Very nice actual merchandise store front. This shop is going to do well. Not just another shop with a waiting room. I might be setting up my blast equiptment there as well.
