Available immediately we have released our Golf R boost gauge - MSRP $95

This 2 1/16” (52mm) gauge looks like it is meant to be there, with its matching blue needle, computer-matched LEDs and custom needle covers.

To top it off, our DayNight™ feature gives you the ONLY VW White gauge that lights in the day and dims at night with the instrument panel.

Like all our boost gauges, the VW White R boost gauges have our NoBuzz™ technology and comes pre-wired with connectors, tubing and fittings for a complete and simple solution.

There are several mounting options - a single ColumnPod mount on top of the steering column, and a VentPod that fits in the driver's side vent.

    Pricing:

VW White R 30 inHg 30 PSI boost gauge with tubing, T-fitting, wiring and connectors - MSRP $95

White R boost gauge with Mk6 VentPod Kit - $150
    White R boost gauge with Mk6 ColumnPod - $130

For more information go to our Golf R webpage

All products are available immediately from us or any of our distributors.

Looks good. I like that fact that you are able to dim it. Reasonable price as well!

Take a Podi gauge on trade?

Are there any photos of this gauge functioning at night? That would be a big help.

    Thanks!

May pull the trigger on this one. I'm not sure I can wait for the Podi group buy - still probably a couple of months out.

These are in stock here, as well at New South, so you could have this set up in just a couple days.

Thanks...this helps...it'd be even better to see this in the same shot as the stock cluster...that would show how well it matched. It looks like New South had one installed in an R (daytime pics of gauge in vent). Maybe they'll post some night time pics??

I'm confused...how is this getting no attention? People have been waiting for months for the Podi gauge, making a fuss, etc. Here's a color-matched gauge and no one is talking?

everyone's money is tied up on the PODI gauge. No need for two gauges. I do like this gauge though

Is the blue needle only available in a boost gauge or do you plan on making other gauges available with it (i.e. Oil Pressure)?

The podi gauge is quite shallow so suitable for the shallow column pod, is digital so using a wire rather than vacuum/boost house into the cabin, and being digital, has both a peak display and a (albeit nearly impossible to see in daytime) red warning overboost indicator. Quite a different setup so not entirely comparable.

The guys at my shop continue to swear by mechanical gauges over electric ones. I was part of the PODI group buy but I may pick one of these up if PODI gets back to me on the cancellation policy. I'm itching to get some parts installed and the PODI buy is taking so long.

Most tuners prefer mechanical boost gauges as they are much more responsive to small changes in boost/vacuum pressure.

We have done a comparison of electrical vs mechanical boost gauges - a properly designed mechanical boost gauge that is correctly installed will perform as well, if not better, than an electrical gauge.

We did lab and road testing and have posted the video results on YouTube:

Not to mention the mechanical is silent, the Podi stepper motor is quite noticeable with the fan & radio off. I had a mechanical in my wrx and never heard it. But for right hand drive golfs, there is no (good) vent pod solution, so that leaves the column pod, which, if designed to fit a mechanical gauge is too deep and so obscures too much of the standard mfd & gauges, which was why i went Podi. So it is a difficult comparison.

Will this fit in the OSIR mount that goes in front of the shifter?
Can vac hose be run to that location?

It should. Have you seen our ConsolePod that fits in front of the shifter?

Our design gives you access to the power point in the cubby and you can angle the gauges toward you.

Vac hose can be run down there - we also give you some wire loom to cover any exposed wires or tubing.

I had the column mount in my 12' GLI......Definitely an easy location to view, but it bothered me a little that some of the cluster was blocked. Not that I couldn't see the gauges, cause I could, but it took out the bottom left corner of the screen display.

I've had by blue needle gauge for a few days, in the trunk of my Genesis. The R is still at APR...Sure miss it! Been a week and a half. Once Doug and the rest of the APR crew get back from Waterfest, they wrap up the Stage 3 install......Can't wait!!!!!

When I get home, I'll switch out the regular New South Gauge for the blue needle one...Mine is in the vent like yours Speed.

not as quick as speedfrk at installing... lol

    pros:
in my opinion the gauge matches 90% to factory. pictures don't really show that, but in real life it does. only difference is a slight variation in the lighting. again, it is damn near perfect to stock coloring.

    it dims with the lights.

works like a gauge should. no problems.

steve was awesome, i asked for upgraded shipping and he called me and hooked it up, nice guy.

    cons:
my only complaint was the vent pod didn't fit as well as my awe gauge vent pod i had in my gti. i did a little dremel sanding to clean up the edges and it fit perfect. most people probably wouldn't mind, but it bugged me.

crappy iphone pics with the headlights on in my sort of dark garage. in the pics it looks like the needle is whiter where it starts, it doesn't look like that in real life, only in the pics...
