    Thread: Short Shift

    1. 07-12-2012 11:36 AM #1
I can't find any reviews on the short shift kits I've come across. I'm trying to decide between the Neuspeed and Eurosport. Anybody know about either?

I have both. No real difference between the 2. Choose one and go for it, you won't be disappointed

Don't waste your money. If you have a short shifter and start slamming into 2nd, you'll crunch your synchro..

Look into USRT's smartshift kit. They make the shifter feel 100000% better than stock. It's such a nice click click feel.

      X2

The difference is night and day its well worth it. I couldnt believe how much better my shifter was after the install.. no more wobbling, no more play, nice and tight feel, made shifting a lot smoother.

...but that's not what I'm trying to accomplish. My gearbox is quite smooth, I just want to shorten the throws so I don't feel like I'm driving a truck. I just want to know what benefit the extra part on the Neuspeed kit has, and whether it's worth the extra dough.

Lets first ask is it a 4cyl or 6cyl car, one is linkage and one is cable.

OP what motor do you have? If its a vr6, nothing you posted will fit as you have a completely different set-up. If it's a 2.0l then I would go with the USRT kit and forget the simple neuspeed and eurosport packages.

It's a 2.0, but the USRT kit doesn't shorten the throw does it?

Sorry to jack the thread, but would the USRT work for a TDi?

x3, had it on my mk1. It does not have a short shift. I do not care for the short shift kits that neuspeed or eurosport offer. They only address the throw from front to rear, not side to side.
