I'm pulling up the carpet in our finished basement and I found some nasty old linoleum under the carpet. I'm putting down blackjack padding under the floor so it seems like it would be okay leave the linoleum but there are places where it came up. Will it cause us any trouble down the road if we leave the linoleum?

Leaving the linoleum seems like a good idea to me as long as it is glued down well and not bumpy. It could help keep the moisture from coming through to the laminate's substrate.

Remove any bumps and you should be fine. They are designed to be floating floors and span irregularities with ease.

It turned out to be more trouble than it was worth so we pulled it. There were bumps and cracks all over and they glued it down in piles. Does anyone know if black jack is enough of a moisture barrier or do we need something else under it.

Never heard of it. Can you find the manufacturer's website?
