I always wondered about doing dsg swap, since my 07 wolfsburg only came with a tiptronic transmission. Is it as easy as swapping the dsg trans with all the other dsg parts or is there more to it? like new ecu I would guess. I can get a lightly used DSG for around $1500. Anyone have any thoughts?

Get the trans and control module. 4cyl dsg for the swap (assuming you have the 4cyl).
Jury is still out on driveshaft length differences.
If driveshaft is same it'll run.

I had to look it up as I thought. The DSG axles are bolted on to the transmission like a manual axles are where as automatic triptronic trans slip into trans.

So you will need a new axles.

Likely need a different wiring harness too.
