I'm looking at a 93 SLC while on deployment the owner says "There is some clicking in the engine in low gears, which at times can cause the car to stall; it sounds like a small switch or valve that is flipping intermittently; I haven't had time to investigate this further so I cannot provide additional details"Has anyone come across this problem before? I'm a old G60 guy so not realy used to VR6 problems

Ask him when the last time the timing chains were done? Does the sound go away at higher rpms? It could be the chain slapping against the guide before it goes tight.

That's only if the sound is actually coming from the motor.
