Toronto United Motorsport Flash Extravaganza

Hello Gents (and ladies),

There has been a bunch of questions about getting UM software on your cars in Canada. I know there aren't many dealers so I am going to drive out to the Toronto area and flash some cars!

We needed at least 10 people. Fortunately you guys have gotten that many, hopefully we can get a few more!

DATE: Saturday, August 18th 2012
Location: JP Auto Designs (www.jpautodesigns.com)
Time: I'd like to start flashing around 1PM

Joseph @ JP Auto Designs has agreed to provide BBQ food and drinks for us. The date is the day before VagKraft. Since they do auto detailing, it might be a good idea for those of you that are in the area to get your car detailed while I flash it to look it's best for the show the next day.

That is something you'll want to mail the ECU down to Jeff for. I won't have the tools to flash an out-of-car ECU with me.

Excellent. We can flash that. 10+ currently requires pulling the ECU.

The 2012 ECU needs to be pulled out to be flashed. I won't be able to do that on the road. It's just too risky.

UM offers both an ECU and DSG flash for your car. Not all of the other tuners do that. The MK5 R32 section is a great resource for information and reviews on the different flashes for your car.

I've been reading and reading and reading trying to get that answer as well since I bought my .:R a month ago.

It come down to the reputation UM has built through all the flashes it has done in the states for .:r32s and that's hard to ignore. There are many threads on it in the MKV R32 board.

There was also a fair amount of people who had flashed their car with other companies, then switched to UM and stated there was a difference. How much? not sure...
Some people say they cant feel that difference with just a regular flash.
I find that hard to beleive as well.

Jeff @ UM also has reputation of being one of the best VR6 tuners in North America.

btw.. I dont work for UM. I'm just excited to get the combo tune on my car.
