Having some issues with batteries no 100% after a week or 2 in the garage... Looking for a way to hook it up to a trickle charger for those extended garage stays... I don't want to hook it up in the engine compartment, and can I hook directly to the batteries?

I am confused as to why the 2, 6v batteries would be in parallel in a car with a 12 v system. Anyway you could probably connect the charger at the batteries. But why not just use the battery jump connections under the hood. It would be simpler. As long as the charger is connected, the hood or trunk would need to be open.

The trickle chargers i have seen have a break away cable which lets you leave the clamps on the battery and just break the wire when you want to disconnect. if i leave this under the hood it would most likely get messed up, this is why i was looking for a way to hook it up to the batteries (in the trunk) with the wire coming out and leaving the charging device on the ground behind the car.
