Thread: FS: Perforated leather/brushed aluminum shift knob and boot

  1. 07-16-2012 03:13 PM #1

This is a brand new (never used or installed) 5-speed OEM shift knob and boot, which fits directly into MK4 Golf/Jetta.

    - The shift knob is a genuine OEM Audi S-Line knob covered in perforated leather with brushed aluminum ring. It includes an OEM clamp to secure it to your shifter. The shift pattern is 5-speed.
    - Shift boot is made from perforated genuine leather, double-stitched with grey stitching (I can probably get red, white or other stitching)
    - Also included is a brand new VW OEM plastic shifter surround trim ring, so it's truly plug and play.

This is an excellent replacement for your stock shift knob/boot combo. The shift knob is slightly thicker, more substantial, and feels much better than the original shift knob in your VW. I have one in my car and love it.

The price is $125 firm including shipping within Canada.
Or $115 shipped without the plastic shifter retainer trim if you'd like to re-use yours.

As previous poster mentioned, it should screw on, but I haven't tried it. The diameter of the shifter rod should be comparable (12mm?).
The boot has elastic sewn into it, so you can just buy it without the trim ring and stretch the boot over your existing trim ring. They look similar in size from this DIY: http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...II-Golf-Jetta*
No need to cut into your trim like in the link above as they used a different MKIV shift boot base then the one I'm showing above.

Hope this helps and hope you'll give it a try!
