    Very good point.

Driving our Golf R project cars around on moderate boost with the Garrett GT turbo is quite fun even compared to our full bolt on Golf R. Looks stock right? Not quite, it has our full Golf R turbo kit and we're running through a variety of turbos

The one thing that confuses the **** out of me is the same repetitive posts on almost every topic you guys have, while I look forward to seeing updates and all, sometimes it gets a bit confusing at what the topic is actually about.....

With that said and to go against what i just said, the intake seen on this car looks different, what are the details on that? Looks to be going below the headlight...

I got an email from Winston few days ago regarding the gauge and they were going to test fit
few different ones to find the perfect matching led.
Haven't seen any pictures or updates on the thread except cts marketing/advertising.
I appreciate the efford podi is putting in to the matching gauge but it is taking longer than I expected.
I will be waiting for mid August for fully completed gauge and hope it will be shipped by the end of
August otherwise I am going to request a refund. NS looks perfect considering how much less it costs.

Thanks, the thread titles indicate for the most part what's in the thread. However we do bump the threads regularly with new shop happenings, products etc. which some people find interesting.

Our shop Golf R project car, which I think you're referring has one of our big turbo kits installed hence the different intake. I'm sure if this intake was paired with the stock turbo, enough advertising, and brain washing that it could make in the range of 50-200awhp. Fortunately for us and our clients, it's only designed for the big turbo kit so we don't have to break the laws of science or the hearts of our clients when they test it.

You wouldn't be able to use that intake as a bolt on regardless. The large diameter pipe, 3" by the looks of it, at the mass airflow sensor would read quite a bit lower so the ECU would think the engine load was lower and could easily lean the engine out too much. Bad juju.

Yeah mid aug is about as long as im willing to wait. Then I'll go new south. Not something I really want to do but I'm stage 2 now and it's a good idea to monitor boost at this point. The constant plugging of the cts product line in this thread is unfortunate too. I clink the thread expecting podi info. Not info on some turbo kit. That info and discussion should be in a sep thread.

You don't have to worry at 2. Your ECU is already pulling boost in the mid-range to prevent leaning out since the fuel system can't keep up in those rev ranges. There is nothing you're going to catch with a boost gauge that you ECU hasn't already anticipated and corrected for. As for the turbo kit info, consider it banner adds. CTS has stepped up because they are a vender and PODI isn't, and are, as far as I can tell, not getting anything out of helping PODI and us out besides the advertising. I can't see how you can begrudge them that.

This is exactly true, advertising here is not free, we're dealers of the Podi product line and local to Podi. We were asked by Podi to help, and it seemed like the right thing to do, as they're planning to test on our Golf R.

If the majority of users would prefer deletion of this thread we have no problem with doing that.

I am pretty stoked that CTS-turbo decided to work with pod-i on this project. I thought I had missed my chance to buy this gauge until I came across this thread. I can't wait until I have it in my car.

I personally just think it gets a bit confusing if you're opening a few tabs at the threads you follow to see updates relevant to the topic title but you end up seeing the same last post in a few of them.
I think it would be beneficial for you to have a separate thread with the happenings at CTS including GOLF R related production and such, i would follow that. Just an idea, not trying to bash or anything and I'm patiently waiting for the gauge =D

And to go against what i just said above, yet again....
In terms of the intake, is there a particular reason why its offered only on the bigger turbo? Why not do it as an offering for the stock?

Because it effectively rescales the mass air sensor which will lean the car out without tuning for it. Also, you just don't need that much intake to feed a K04.

Here is a picture of the Golf R blue needle to show color match. Ignore the needle hub design as this is a test needle.

Here is the needle installed in a prototype gauge with one of the LEDs we have shortlisted, color at the hub is good but the LED is not bright enough to light up the whole needle. We are still looking and testing.

    Thanks Guys,

    Clay
