Just caught the first episode. Thoroughly enjoyed it. The part where you guys were downing those donuts had me rolling . The ZO6/Speed Triple chase though.... Looking forward to the rest of the season.

Great episode! My wife really isn't into cars but she enjoys Top Gear. I like that they showed Tanner's footwork when he drifted the Z06.

Was anyone else impressed with the 0-100-0 of the Taurus?

Great way to open the season. Rutledge, your helmet looked a little snug...I have a big head so I know how that feels

Was fun trying to figure out the areas you were driving through while in Detroit. One scene while you guys were driving, I played in slow motion because I thought I saw a Jet's Pizza in the background (awesome pizza btw). It was the one at 23 & Schoenherr Road about 3 miles from me. Then I pressed play only to see you guys a mile further down the street testing the tear gas at the shooting range I use. Small world

The Z06 looks so mean and the entire 'Vette vs Triumph was very well shot/choreographed.

Overall I enjoyed the episode, but seeing the skid marks from what looked like hundreds of different takes kind of ruined the z06 chase for me.

I noticed the tire marks, too.

Although to me, it looked like 2-3 previous takes.

sooo... where's the link guys? Or at least when is it airing again but in Canada?

I'm away from my TV - last season I watched all the episodes with my dad, which was fun.

Exactly, I exaggerated in my post, but I don't think I was the only one thinking "Ken Block" more than "cop chase"

It's TV, you're not going to find a scripted television show that does sh!t in one take, it's impossible.

I don't have a problem with it, it entertained me and that's all that really matters to me. Also, regardless of the amount of skid marks on the road if anyone of had 10x the amount it still wouldn't be nearly as good....

Good episode. Of course the Corvette isn't going to lose. No way it would lose in Detroit. I bet the city was willing to let them do anything as long as it showed their cars being awesome and not losing.

I loved the skit where the minivan leaves the Crown Vics in the dust. Staged of course, but its true that a modern minivan driven properly will out corner and out accelerate the old police cars.

Clarksons "reviews" are different than a purported "race". I would have actually enjoyed a straight up race without all the flair.

Tanner Foust is the next Knight Rider lol. Great ending to that episode. I wish they hadn't cut to that commercial though during the Z06 chase. Gotta cut and paste now.

I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. I loved that it was actually a honest (for TG) look at these three new contenders in the pursuit category - though I really wanted the Stig to show back up in his Odyssey once the trio had their new rides.

Top Gear has proven any car chase scene involving a Corvette can be awesome. TGUK's Vette vs. Fiesta in a mall comes to mind - though I don't remember there already being skidmarks in that mall. The final chase reminded me a bit of Gymkhana for sure. Tanner is an amazing driver - I'd really like to see Tanner vs. Stig at some point.

I'd also like to add it was truly sad for the Crown Vic when they couldn't keep up with the Honda minivan.

Good start, my wife who normally doesn't like car shows and gets pretty annoyed with UKTG actually seemed to like last nights episode. I was pretty impressed with Tanners car and it makes me want to replace out Flex with an ecoboosted one even more.

I noticed this too, and figured that the skid marks were from practice runs.

Fun episode, though. When I heard they were doing a cop car episode, I thought they were going to do a rehash of the Top Gear UK episode where the guys had to buy cheap cars and turn then into cop cars. I'm glad they did something different.

I really enjoyed the episode. I didn't want to read this thread until I saw it. Like people have posted, the filming and gotten a lot better. I like where this show is headed. I ROFL'd when Tanner was telling his story of the clown nose...lol. If I were a cop I'd probably break down laughing and just give the guy a warning. Thought the whole segment about cop cars was pretty cool. Sucks that Tanner left Rutledge's door open, I really wanted to see if the Caprice would be able to go the 5 minutes with the tear gas. Corvette chase was pretty cool, especially the drifiting and the end. All in all the show has really come together and I can't wait for the upcoming episodes. It would be cool if Rutledge could give a shout out to the VWVORTEX community during one of the shows.

The cinematography and composition was leaps and bounds ahead of the previous series. The overall episode was great too. The absence of the studio segment was good too - those were always a bit awkward.

Now... you need to get rid of the 1 minute rehash after each commercial break!

Those are getting pretty bad on a lot of programs. (not just TG)

    1. Commercial
    2. One minute rehash
    3. Five minutes of content
    4. One minute preview of the next five minutes of content
    5. Commercial
    6. Rehash
    7. Content
    8. Preview
    9. Commercial
    10. Repeat
    11. ??????
    12. Profit
I swear, some of these shows could be a 30 minute program.
