hey i just joined and seeing how there isnt much info on these i can shed some light

just installed these today and i i think they look pretty good with the chrome grille

its hooked up to my battery and when the car gets turned on the lights turn on automatic
when the car turns off there is a few sec delay then the lights turn off.

i did mess up aligning them at first and had to pull it off a few times before it clipped in right.
lightly pulling on it. it didnt break thank god lol
    plastic seems strong.

the only thing im worried about is rock chips ruining the chrome.
the wires were siliconed neatly into the unit itself to waterproof it a bit.
i did wash the car after and no water seemed to be inside the housing from direct spray.
    kit comes with.
2 housing with leds built in
    4 tie wraps
chinese instructions. (useless to me since i cant read it)
2 wiring harnesses that were long enough to run from one side of the engine bay to the next
and the ballast which i just double sided tape to a bracket near the driver side headlight.

i dont have long term results so who knows how long the leds will last but if they go ill be sure to post here

No codes and they are hooked right into the battery not the fog lights or tapped into any wires on the car what so ever.

Please keep me/us updated. Would be nice if they turn on when the car starts and off when you shut the car off. Seeing I turned off my DRL these would look nice

everything you said now makes sense since my packaged arrived today. As i dont read chinese either, once question to clarify. So, the long pigtail coming off the transformer to the battery, i assume red to + and black shorter cable to -? everything else SEEMS pretty straightforward with your thoughtful instructions on this post. I also may plasti dip the chrome for the same reasons you noted above-likely will chip pretty quickly i think..

Yep black to negative And red to positive. The white is a acc wire I guess I just did not use. I think that can be ran into the fuse box and controlled by a euro switch the guy said but I took the easy way to just run it to the battery. I do like the chrome look since it matches my grille but living in new England is tough on chrome with salt and rocks and winter

How good is the finish of the chrome painted plastic, and fitment of the unit? Does it look OEM?

I'm thinking of getting the same ones but definitely want to control them with my Euroswitch. Maybe someone can chime in with some information on wiring these (or any others) to the switch and/or fusebox. FYI, I had my DRLs turned off via VAG-COM, but may enable again if I can figure out the best and easist way to wire for these.

Idk if they at hand crafted or all produced the same but my fitment is pretty damn accurate to stock. I have no gaps in mine and it doesn't sit loose.

I easily separated the chrome from the plastic by removing 6 screws which also let me remove the LED's..then i just used 4-5 coats of black plasti dip and put it back together..very easy to do and looks professional..

Looks great. I'm on the fence about leaving the chrome or going Plasti Dip, but will be putting the clear Euro Markers in as well. Did you connect the LEDs straight to the battery or are they switched?

thanks for the feedback. they are not hooked up yet but i am told two ways to do it (see earlier post....direct to battery and there is also a more complicated way which involves a switch..i;m not too technical so i'm going battery. i did the euro markers a few months ago then had them lightly tinted..came out great and also replaced the yellow bulb with bright white..so really pops against the tint..

Tried to connect to battery tonight with no success on quick attempt. Do the terminals from the transformer need to connect directly to the battery posts (+ and -) terminals or can they connect to the connection clamps? i tried the clamps with no success. I ask because the transformer leads come with the open ended horseshoe connecters but they are too small to wrap around the battery posts. any insight here?? thanks man!

I just converted my cc with 5000K Pilot HID headlights ;-) What a difference!!! Also changed all the other bulbs to 5000k. (cornering, beam and small lamp)
Now i would like to add these driving lights. My question, do they really give enough light? In the picture of your white car, they don't seem very bright. How is it in the real?
    Thanks
    Rudy

il take a photo of my car down the road a ways and see if you can see them. now that you say something they arnt as bright as i want them to be either. i parked next to a mercedes that had the drls on the bottom of the bumper and theres was slighty brighter.
i wanted to convert all my lights to 6000k. i hate the plain jane look of headlights
hoping they match better then they do now

i can tell you, the conversion from plain halogen (yellow) to the HID lamps is just fantastic!!! No cheap look, no blinding, but light,,, light..... a lot of it!!

Up close they look ok, but from a distance they blend together and look like one light. OEM LEDs are spaced further apart and a at distance keep separation. But for the price and ease of install its a good deal. I'm just not feeling LEDs at all. To many out there these days. Seems every new car has them.

True. I like the oracle lights in the turn signal a little better but they are pricy so I wanted to try these first to see if I liked these. If not I was going to buy the oracles anyway lol. But I've gotten a lot of comments at work about them all good and most of us drive vw now
