How often to .:R(32)s sell under MSRP?

PLEASE offer a DSG as an option in the next Golf R. I took my checkbook to a local dealer and drove the R back to back w/my DSG equipped GTI. I just couldn't pull the trigger on the manual trans. And no discount off MSRP was a deal killer. To get the DSG, I would have cracked the checkbook open wider. (And my last 3 cars over 11 years driving were all manuals.)

Our local dealer is discounting them about 750 right off the bat.

DFW dealers are arrogant.
You can find Golf R's for at or near invoice if you are willing to ship or fly/drive.
I have been stoned before for suggesting that the Golf R should be a every year production unit.
This 4 year junk is nonsense... the Golf R isn't that special. Evo and STI make their models every year and resale value are higher than the R32.
Now a $45k Golf RS with a 5 pot... sure... make that every 4 years.

So heres the thing.
The MKIV R32 was too old when I graduated college.
The MKV R32 was offered with DSG, which didn't pair well with the 3.2 IMO. I bitched and moaned about DSG on that car. I loved everything but the DSG on that car that I almost bought one (3 separate times).
Now, with the MKVI Golf R. This car BEGS for a DSG box. It would make its 0-60 pretty impressive, probably just at 5.0 flat, if not faster, and would be a fantastic package. Oh, but then they neutered it with non defeatable ESP
I test drove a TTS, and it was a RIOT to drive. Had that car been in the golf chassis (non defeatable esp and dsg) it would have been in my driveway.
My hope for the trans on the MKVII R is irrelevant. If they put the 2.5T from the TTRS, I'll buy whatever trans they throw on it.
Think carefully about the engine/trans combo, and don't neuter the car with non defeatable ESP.
There, I said it.
