Well it started months ago. I picked up a 1991 cabriolet white on red
picked it up from the original owner who bought it in Germany drove it there for a year then VW shipped it to the us for him.
well he passed it around the family until it was time for me to take it home $500.00

well after i get the cabby running i'm just not happy with it. i've driven mostly corrados. plus the cabby had no interior since the PO stripped the seats the reappolster them and then lost the material and gave me wire frame seats. new seats new convertable top these were looking at a decent amount of money. Well one day browsing craigslist someone was selling 2 sciroccos well i traded him my cabby for his scirocco boy if i knew what i was getting into.

well here is it before it hit my house

This car had so much crap everywhere. I know a few animals made nests in the engine bay.
it had a full ants nest in the weather stripping.

then I got the car started after a new fuel pump. then that died and you all might have seen my post about the crap in my tank

New tank on the way but until i can get time to do that I went back to the body.

there was a dent in the pass fender. the harbor freight pop a dent tool took out the dent 95%
    bondo fixed the rest

drivers door has a hit like someone dropped something on it. i tried to fix that best i can but its not great

the bumpers were ugly so i removed them and found a deal on euro bumpers.
these are still packaged up so no pics right now but as soon as i finish the black primer i'll get the bumpers fitted and take pics

    I started to paint

next is i'm making my new badge less grill with single euro light setup or
i'm still debating using the US to see which i think looks better.

either way i'll have some more free parts soon

then after thats done and its running its the interior.

Today i nearly completed the badgeless grill for the single light setup.

I had bought a mkII single round badgeless grill from ebay for 40.00 figured since it was cheap enough i could play with it and if it failed it was only 40 bucks.

I installed the euro lights measured the gap and started to cut gap is aprox 32 inches
I cut the grill to size then the grill is to high had to cut off the lower portion about an inch.

then chopped some of the tabs for a test fit and this is how it turned out. whole process really took 45 minutes and that's stopping to let the tingling stop from using the sawzawl and grab something to drink since it was still hot out.

here is what i have now sorry cell phone pic at night not the best

I have finally put the first coat of flat black
I got the paint offline for 60 buck for a gallon ready to spray and I have to say very impressed
    sprayed smooth nice coats.

    Here are a few shots

    still working on the hood

I also replaced the gas tank
thanks to everyone for the help
I removed my brake lines this made mine much easier mine would not fit over the rear beam
15 minutes to remove the lines made all the difference.

I replaced all the fuel lines while i was in there. then i sprayed the gas tank with bed liner to protect it

waiting on a new xferpump and sending unit

but i'm scared about the sending unit the ones i found show no fuel lines

I'm hesitant on buying this and having to make my own
if anyone has bought this its from VDO maybe i'll use my old one since it works just fine.

    I slightly tinted the headlights
55w HIDs will be on the way this week

I'm hoping next week this will be on the road I hope

Your old unit should have a pump attached you can buy a new pump for it for 30+ from germanautoparts

It has a pickup tube with mesh screen on the bottom of the pump
Also there is a dealer sold seal that is a green o ring for the unit to sandwich onto the gas tank opening

I have a new tank seal that came with the tank

my xfer pump worked until it dried out, go figure new pump is on its way
the old sending unit is krusty clean where it needs to be.

new door handles are on the list as well mkIII pull style

Yeah i gotta pull the door handles I got excited and started painting.
I was thinking a red stripe or something to throw off the eye to any bad spots either pin strips down the side or a racing stripe just a some vinyl maybe that's still up for debate.
