With minimal tweaking.

Very nice. Is that overclock prime stable? Between the CPU and VRM waterblocks, you should be able to get some pretty good voltage and a nice stable OC. That UD7 should have pretty good VRM's too.
Typically if you have one stick per channel you can always run 1T, only when you go to two sticks per channel do you have to sometimes drop back to 2T.
I am definitely an Intel guy myself, but thats a pretty sweet build.
What are you doing for video and storage?

I haven't run Prime yet. I'm sure it's got some more in it, but I didn't really make much of an effort to OC it yet.
I have a pair of ASUS DirectCU Top HD5850 & a RevoDrive3-120 GB in a PCI-E slot. I still want to OC the VC's. They have a lot of headroom from stock.
Other than the CPU, MB, & EK blocks, everything else is being reused, including the water cooling system.

No plan to do it now, but you never know. It would mean mounting another loop. I could get creative to find the room for it, but would have to start mounting the radiators in stacks. It can become a very expensive hobby.
The VC's are theoretically capable of maxing out the ASUS SmartDoctor software before actually maxing out their OCing overhead. I'm going to try the MSI Afterburner software also.
SH*T!!http://www.swiftech.com/mcr320-qp-stack.aspx I could pick up 2 of those on the cheap!! Maybe I should quit while I'm ahead?

I think they are closing out the leftovers. They were the result of a forum asking for that type of set-up, Swiftech stepped up & produced them, & now it's no longer being produced. They are a unique product. You just plug them into each other until you have what you want, add fans, & then the barbs go on the outside radiator.
It gets complicated with the fans & shrouds. A double stack could have 3 rows of fans pushing & pulling air through the stack. The 2 pictures above have the basic single fan row set up, but more can be added to the outsides.

Not quite sure how that rad stack works. I have to assume there is something in the end caps to direct the water or it would just flow straight through the barbs on the first rad and only use the second rad. Would make sense if the inlet was on the top rad and the outlet was on the bottom rad, but I just don't get how it works as pictured.

Hmm... so what do you need this much eight core power for?
You running Mars trip simulations for SpaceX?
No.. seriously.
Is this just like a dyno queen car that is never raced... do you have a need for such power?
Or is this about bragging rights?
And I am not "hating" on your build of OC.
Just trying to figure out this OC thing.

I have 2 systems, one primary, & one secondary which is the hand me down everyone else in the house uses. The secondary system was an Intel quad-core that the MB died on. It's old enough at this point that the CPU & MB are obsolete, & the MB is no longer available anywhere. For $500 in parts I did an upgrade for myself, & passed the 2 YO system I was using on to the secondary system. It comes down to $500 for current technology, or a store bought $500 system that was obsolete 3 years ago. The speed difference is very noticeable in just doing everyday tasks. Anybody who tells you otherwise is full of sh*t.

Some peoeple, like the OP, and I, can actually tell the difference between a normal persons 2-3Ghz computer and a highly overclocked 4-5Ghz computer, just moving thru windows and surfing the web even. Frankly most stock cpu's piss me off because they are too slow. THere are so many places a web browser can lag and does lag on a 3Ghz cpu you would be surprised.
It's just like driving a 450+Whp FWD car. I love my VRT too![]()

I wanted to buy a bare-bones laptop years ago & nobody had one, bought an OTS laptop, & then you know what happened within a year, OCZ came out with one. When the OTS laptop died I went looking for the OCZ, & they had been discontinued.
This is what it looked like when I first opened the box, and in original passive air cooled form.
The MX-4 TIM & the bundled leads to clean up the secondary system case with 90° HD connectors.

Is that a better setup than doing as I said? Cap the one in between barb and just use the other to transfer from one rad to the other. Only real problem is tubing routing would be a bit harder since barbs are on opposite sides of the huge rad stack.
OC computers are definitely a noticeable difference for me. Also, why not OC to get better than intel 6 core performance out of my $199 2600k?

There are so many fittings available that something could be rigged up to work, even if it meant crossing the flow over to the second radiator with 90° fittings, & then crossing it back over when it exits.
Lots of fans adds expense & noise, but you do what you have to to make it work.

Yeah... nobody else could tell the difference.
Seriously- I was not trolling or trying to be an ass (not that I have to try).
But supercharging a new 5.0 Mustang just so it is faster merging in traffic?
IDK... seems like a dyno queen to me.
On that note- let me preface by saying I have never tried any serious OCing (that was stable enough to think it was useful).
But then again- I don't have central air/heat, so pc cooling is an issue depending on the weather.

Well, it's almost more noticeable when you come from a fast computer to a slow one, you are like man I'm slogging through molasses, where as you might just be used to the 'slow' computer you have now and not even realize itUnlike cars on the street, a computer can never be TOO powerful

I may have had one of those Alpha's, but can't remember for sure. I did have one of the Volcano's though.
It would be like the difference between riding a bicycle & driving a car from point A to point B. If you never were aware a car existed you would be content with the bicycle.
It's used a few hours a day year round. Definitely not a dyno queen, & anyone could tell the difference, it's that noticeable.
OC on water & the best it will be is ambient temperature. Oc on air & it will always be above ambient temperature. There is a definite difference in room temperature between the two methods, plus air cooling is too loud for my tastes at this point in time.
