Need a little assistance - photoshop/altering related

I took a clear detailed photo of my dog Jaxson but the background is unpleasant. Wondering if an expert could help totally "blur out" the background while keeping him exactly as is? Possible?
Any help is much appreciated.

What is you email? I finished one, where I went B&W with the BG and soft focus so the BG is blurred out, puts all the emphasis on Jaxs and makes him look a bit angelic. Let me know. Thanks.
