If you are running the front wipers and throw it in reverse the rear wipers will automatically turn on.

And I love the comfort blinkers for changing lanes.
    Have VCDS, will travel.

I believe there is an "easter egg" thread somewhere here.

    Ill throw in a few:

    - Extendable Sun Visors
    - Extendable Arm Rest
    - Cargo net under rear deck
    - Cooling knob in glove box (to keep drinks cool)
    - Rear wiper activated when car is put into reverse (Wipers must be on)
    - Each key fob stores users settings

Search on this site isn't that great, can you explain these easter eggs?

According to the manual, the key fob will remember what settings you have in your MFD as far as comfort settings, interior lighting settings, info settings, etc so if someone else also has one for your car, it'll remember their settings when they use their fob.

I was also pleasantly surprised to see that even the manual seats have power recline now.

    Self distructing water pumps

Seriously though, when you shift into reverse, the a/c will go into recirc mode so you don't suck in exhaust gasses. Oddly enough the light on the button won't turn on, but you can hear the flaps move and the rushing air change in pitch.

The OEM fogs on a Golf TDI will turn on as your corner if the lights are on (but the fogs aren't engaged). It is pretty slick when you turn left at slow speeds (<20) and everything on the left lights up and vice versa on the right.

i turned this on with VCDS on my GTI..then turned them off. It looks like i have faulty wiring when it happens.

Its funny about the sun visor, I have a friend with a 2010 TDI who had owned the car longer than I have my GTI, he did not know about this until I told him this year....

but the number of blinks should be programmable (without VAG-COM).

I wonder how that would work with KESSY, when both people have their keys with them.

Something I noticed today in the rain. I know that when the wiper is on, when you shift to reverse the rear wiper comes on to clear the glass, and also that if you come to a stop the wiper will reduce the interval until you are moving again. What I did not notice before, is that the rear wiper comes on even when the wiper is not at the "on" position when I shift into reverse. My front glass still has some water on it and it is still raining, but it was not hard enough so I usually just use the single-wipe function. Does the car come with rain sensor anyway?

I love that per key 'user' feature. Our TDI is the 'shared' car for our dogs, kids, etc. My wife loves the 'beep' when you lock the car. I hate it. Her key beeps, mine doesn't. Problem solved

If you press the lock button 5 times in a row within a 3 second time frame, the car starts via remote start.

Negative. There is simply a timer, if you will, associated with your last use of the front wipers. If you put it in reverse within a certain amount of time (even if all you do is the quick wipe for the front) the rear will run.

Regarding keys remembering settings: any changes made in the mfi are "saved" to the key. Say you like to have all the does unlock when you press the fob once. Program that with your key in the ignition and that's how it will stay. If the wifey only likes the driver door to unlock, have her put the other key in the ignition, set the option in the mfi and it will stay that way for her key. That's just one example.
