Didn't think anyone still uses the term "off the chain". I doubt the HPA online sales rep is in any way connected to Tristan Herbert (driver of the #33 GLI) or the inside of any of those HPA GLIs.

I have sat inside the race cars, I also did a lot of the ECU flashing for them.

I have not driven them, and I don't believe we had any alignment issues.

Excellent choice on DieselGeek SS...you are going to love it. I know I love mine..one of my favorite mods. Makes me love driving my car that much more. Let us know how you like it!

That's pretty awesome. Being a gutted race car, I'm sure it still moves pretty quickly. What KW units are you guys using? V3? Clubsports?

    Clubsports!

They are a few hundred pounds lighter than a base one, but with the cage most of that ends up back in the car in the name of safety. We are also limited to weight savings, ( we carried weight all season to even up teams )

that's true...i'm sure the cage adds quite a bit of weight..and you guys have to even up with other teams..makes sense.

I want me some clubsports!!! I'll cross that bridge as soon as I sell my air kit.

Still haven't gotten around to installing the DG ss, very busy this time of the year, even weekends are action packed. But..... I did get my ECU back from HPA with the stage 1 flash. I am more than happy. The car is easier to drive at low rpms with a smoother powerband than stock. Oh and it MOVES. Hopefully I will get some time to strap her on the local shop's dyno to get some wheel numbers . Huge thanks to both Keir and Darryl over at HPA. Great guys, great customer service, and very fast turnaround time. Professionalism at it's finest. I know a lot of people ask where the ecu is located in our cars so here is a mini DIY of how I put mine back in .

Step 1 ) unbox your ecu of course

Step 2) open your hood and find your Fuse box cover located on the top drivers side of the engine bay. The ecu literally slides in between the fuses and the battery. Easiest ECU removal/installation I have ever done .

Step 3) There are two cables going into the ECU. To remove them you have to pull a tab outward to release the connectors . Each connector has it's own tab. Just slide them out, and pull the connector off. Push the connectors on and push the tab in to reinstall.

Step 4) Put the fuse cover back on, make sure it is sitting securely, Start her up and enjoy!

Finally got around to doing this. Got some use out of my old wire hangers to thread the wire from the ABS controller into the passenger footwell and under the dash. I now realize that this mod is definitely a MUST have on any GLI that doesn't come with one, especially if you are tuned. Traction control was kicking in so hard after my tune, I just could not shift as fast as I wanted. Different story now. I would imagine this to also be very important in the snow. Hopefully we will get some this year!

Next up is the garage door button mod that one of the good members around here posted a nice DIY for.

The shifter is infact the normal Euro Jetta / GLI shifter. My GLI has the same one.

Tune is great, car is smoothe at low rpms on the highway, great pull in 2nd and 3rd as well as better gas mileage in 6th on the turnpike, getting almost 35mpg! I did have to replace all 4 coilpacks though with a revised version to stop misfires at 5500+ rpm aparently the old coils just couldn't cut it. Warranty and linden VW service FTW! I ended up returning the DG ss, went with the HPA ss (it is pretty much the euro short shifter with 35% reduction I believe) and I love it! I don't move as fast as you patrick, baby steps lol.

all the bad winter news got me worried. So just incase I am stuck driving the GLI in the snow...

I will have to align and center them better when I actually use them, but you get the idea. Definitely a good product to have.

and if any knows who sean ivey is... he tunes the **** out of mitsub evos, skyline GTRs, etc.. saw this going on outside his shop this morning.I just love skylines of all years but this is nice

black has and always will be my favorite color for a car

looks like I am going to need that rev d. diverter valve. Car started hesitating at low rpms and felt like i lost my tune ( huge loss of power) .... followed by some sputtering and wabam MIL light. Did a quick check and .....

idk? haven't thought aftermarket really. I was just going to go to linden vw over here on Monday and have them replace it with the rev. D under warranty .. maybe you can shed some light with aftermarket options?

Regardless of which you go with, go get your warranty one. That way later down the road if you do return it to stock after building some monster your not out of pocket for the DV that would have been covered under warranty.

The new revision is drastically different then the original.

Was definitely getting the warranty one regardless. I mean how can you say no to free parts? . I read up on the switch from rubber diaphragm ripping nonsense to the new solid piston type. Hopefully this will end all troubles.

I believe some have and others not. Most of them not, though.

Definitely get the OEM one under warranty..and if you plan on doing more upgrades and don't mind spending a little extra, I'd say grab an aftermarket one, like Forge. You don't have to. Rev. D should work fine, but ya know..

Idk. My car doesn't feel like it has any stutter. It didn't have a stutter to begin with until I got the underboost MIL. Feels good after the oil change and new DV though . Honestly, I wasn't 100% sure that I had a rev C either. I jacked the car up and looked underneath to find out. It's very easy to find and takes maybe 5 mins. Being the type of person that I am if they wouldn't replace it under warranty, I would have paid for it to be replaced or most likely done it myself. I think the part is maybe 90$ takes a min to replace. Jack your car up and get a little dirty.

I had my Awe turboback exhast and apr stage 1 +2 intake installed at Linden Vw by Mike the tech today. And all I can say is . The awe product definitely surpassed my expectations. Love the intake woosh too.

    sorry just phone picks

Apr stickers... thats good for at least 4 hp right?

I will get videos up eventually. Have a few errands to run on my day off. I feel like my days off are never really days off

Thanks to mike and dennis at linden vw as always. Awe for the great product and euroenginuity for getting it off of another GLI and selling it to me.
