So after long hours of prepping my diesel for the WF18 event, packing coolers, waking up early to wash and wax the car, and driving 2.5 hours to the event I, amongst other dog owners, we're turned away from the show because of new park regulations. I spoke to a "staff manager" and requested I be let into the event because the "no pets allowed" regulation was not posted on the site. The manager pointed at a sign on the fence and said "its posted there." I've gone to ETown events over the last 10 years and have brought canine companions to most of them without any issues. I guess I will be needing a sitter to attend future events.

Damn you google maps for not giving me an up-to-date street view. Maybe then I would've seen the sign and not brought along my 18 pound highly threatening French bulldog.

Next time I'll just sneak him in the trunk as many did.

There were other small dog owners that were turned away from the WF18 event. A few boston terriers if i remember.

That's weird. I saw several dogs at the show on Saturday. They were also bigger than your dog too.

I saw several dogs at the show today and Saturday. But, one of my friends was also told he was not allowed to bring his dog in either. Weird

Def a bad situation, I came down there with some freinds and one of them had a dog and she was turned away, she then said well we just drove 3 hrs to get what can I do, can I stay out here in the parking lot with my dog they said no you have to leave.. So she decided to see if she could board the dog for the day, after finding no one to take the dog the woman decided to just come back to the event and try to get in and with luck she walked right in no questions asked.. Some security... lol
I couldn't fix it, so I sixed it!!

saw probably 5-6 dogs over the course of the two days. a small hairy dog, a brindle pit bull, a cane corso probably about 2-3 months old, a black and white pit bull, a medium sized collie type and something else.

i had a booth so i was around a lot.

sorry to hear - honestly many dogs are better behaved than the humans who show up to these events.

i saw a dude carrying a dachshund (weenie dog,hot dog) which made me into a little girl immediately cause it was soo effen cute plus they come slammed from the factory:thumb up:

In slightly related matters i noticed a sign about only allowing 6 pack size coolers when i was 1 person away from the gate with my massive cooler on the back seat. Luckily i covered it in time but this place definitely has a lot of rules.

My frenchie would have been unconscious after an hour in that heat on Sunday, probably better for that dog not to be there. It was strange because I probably saw 10 dogs walking around throughout the day..

It's really not a good place for dogs. Nothing but heat and blacktop.

yea this was upsetting. i did see many pets at the show still. i don't see any problem with bringing pets in as long as the owners are willing to clean up after them.

I agree. Never understood why people would bring their dogs.

I consider my dog to be a part of my family, and that's the reason I wouldn't but him through that heat and rough environment.

The recent pet ban MIGHT have something to do with all of the vicious pitbulls that are brought on Honda Day. By "vicious pitbulls" I'm referring to the poor unfortunate American Staffordshire Terriers that are raised in tough ghetto environments by douchebag thug gangsters and intentionally trained to be vicious. My brother is a big Honda enthusiast and he said that there seemed to be hundreds of Pitbulls in the show last year, most wearing masks, and some would bark at or attempt to jump on or attack participants and children. I love dogs but undisciplined and dangerous dogs do not belong in family events.

As everyone else said, there were lots of dogs there. I still feel that dogs shouldn't be brought to Waterfest to walk around on the blacktop because it can seriously burn the pads on their paws. If it's a show with grass and you're carrying around bags to clean up after them and are keeping them hydrated throughout the day and giving them adequate shade time, I'm all for dogs at shows.
