Waterfest thoughts

prob the best waterfest in a while. other than the idiots with the yellow shirts yelling at us. track was pretty good, deff an improvement. some more time in between rounds and maybe a quicker way for us to get back to the pits would be great. having people stop to take pics should'nt be allowed(again yellow shirt problems). thanks again mike for putting in the extra effort to make it happen!

Did not like it. Granted I have no 9 sec VW. , but I trailered my car from maryland to a RACING event and even after paying extra money to allow my truck and trailer into a race track, I wasn't allow to pull my trailer into pits, were it would easier to work on the car between runs.....Confusing

But with that said, seening that turbo diesel and hanging out with those gentlmen, Also seeing a couple VW's make 9 sec passes, did make my weekend

You just need to be insistent that you park in the pits. Don't let them con you into going anywhere else. You need to show them your pit pass and eventually you will end up in the right spot

It was overall good those guys in the yellow shirts were just way to overbearing I wasn't racing this one but i can imagine maybe 10-15 minutes more in between rounds or maybe 2 new heads up classes should be made to deal with the in between time. If only we had more cars coming to race that would happen lol!

Mike you improved the event 10 fold. Raceway park was just being its usual self. I ended up just driving past most of the security because the had no idea what the hell was going on. Im sure we can improve on it next year.

I honestly had no issues other than telling me my tires were flat. Maybe also cause my car is slow no one cared. Also just keep driving helps.

I wanted to park in the pits. i talked to 3 people and they told me I can no problems. then a yellow tshirt told me I had to buy a specific crap to go to the pits


i just parked up and enjoyed the fun!

I had a great time despite my car not making one single pass.Would have been nice to be out of the gravel below the airplanes . I would consider coming back espically if my car was properly tested.I was there in 09 and it seemed like there was more trailered stuff then ?

you had the TDI? if so, was great talking with you and your dad. Your car is truly amazing.

All in all I had a good time and will come back. I was concerned sat when i was directed to the grass along with a few other guys. Sun was a different story and got sent to the pit area with no questions. The yellow shirt guys in the golf carts were my aggravation, just not paying attention.
It was good meeting a few of the racers over the weekend.

I just wanted to say thanks to whoever I talked to for the tire pressure recommendation and suggesting getting a little heat in the tires. Still was only getting 2.50-2.60 60 ft times but consistent enough to win B2 Sat and broke out in the finals on Sunday.

mediocre.... broke some studs off the exhaust manifold in the head. lost a bunch of boost and AF was way off.

It nice seeing that car of yours and talking to you guys. It was good to finally put some faces to names also.
Speaking of airplanes, Did anyone else see that red bi-plane pull off some crazy take offs on Saturday?

Yeah that was us. Yaeh i think alot people had issues with traction, but your N/A car was still whooping up on alot of modified MK4 and MK5 GTI's though.
Also on Sunday when we watched you race, there was an older couple behind us and they were cheering you on.

Like Mrbikle said, not the greatest. Some how ended up breaking a couple of exhaust studs off on the head and that exhaust leak killed the power. Ran two passes at 12.0 @ 117mph. I just had high hopes of breaking into the 10's with that FSI powered lead sled down there.

I was a little upset we couldn't bring both cars...oh well. The exhaust did will be fixed before racing this weekend, so not a big deal.

Yes,I'm the diesel guy.We are busy working on the injection pump to get the car back up and running.The engine was between 8000-8500 rpm when the injection pump gave up.

Looking forward to meeting up with you MD guys again.

Yea mike, that was me. Just got done pulling the motor out and separated the head and block. I'll get back into the block in a day or so and see what's up. Def think the bearing spun. Dan? As in the guy that runs waterfest? No, I didn't. Why?

I'll tell Matt and Justin, they paid. I ended up getting in without the added fee. Think the girl at the gate messed up but whatever. Dan should make it an option online though.
