check the connections at the hall sender. The Bentley should have a nice guide on testing that. You have 12v at the coil? All your grounds good?

i have a 86 vw scirocco and i just got it last week. but i still can not get it to run. Im not getting spark from the ignition coil to the distributor cap. i tried new plugs 3 coils, had the module checked, replaced the fuses. the only thing i haven't tried yet to do is the distributor. is there anyway someone could help me with this problem. the car does turn nicely just doesnt fire up![]()

Are you getting 12V to the "15" terminal on the coil? It should be hot when the ignition key is on.
You might consider running a ground wire from a clean bolt or stud on the cylinder head to the battery NEGATIVE. I had an '88 16V that was a dog to start until I did that. It would fire right up after that-- remove that wire, and the dog was back.
