I was at the dealers today and asked about splash guards for the Passat and was told September now instead of July. Great, the rest of the world gets them and we in the U.S. have to wait until when?
Anyone have the link for the Chinese splash guards?

I bought some Chinese ones for $30 shipped and they seem to work fine.......just make you order the b7 ones........

Thanks everyone, I might have to buy a set. With the summer road construction and chip sealing, the rain for the other nine months and a few short dirt roads I have to drive on they are a must.
It just seems bizarre that this car has been in production for over a year and still no OEM splash guards.![]()

I also have an extra set of 4 for the B7 that I would sell to anyone in the US. They originated from China and I have one set on my car now and they fit just fine. $25 with shipping included. Contact me if interested.

Wow those OEM ones look exactly like what I got except mine don't say Passat. For $25 thats better than what I paid and probably won't take a month to ship from China either.

Thanks to redneckracing for the OEM Chinese splash guards...great fit and they look great, too...
These are the best Chinese splash guards by way of Canada, I have ever purchased...
Shanghai Volkswagen - cool, it has actual Chinese writing! Or Canadian writing! Or someone was just trying to see if their Sharpie worked!
Rear, from the rear...
Rear, from the side...sorry about my thumb, but it's too hot in Florida to go take another one...
Front, from the side...if you look carefully you'll see the curb rash on my wheel that I got the other day. I subsequently went into a fit of rage. Then I cried a little. Then I tried to rationalize that it's a wheel and those things happen. Then I felt guilty. Then I accepted it. All 5 stages of grieving.
Anyway, thanks again to redneckracing! Very happy with them. (Not with the curb rash however. Alright, I guess I haven't really moved through the 5 stages, yet.)

Curb rash...yeah, the Bristol/Hankook combo doesn't give you much sidewall bulge to protect the rim...it's almost flush...
...ask me how I know...my wife has gently trashed all four...very minor, but the rash is there...sigh...
thanks for the heads-up on the China/Canad mudflap connection..

I sent an email to VW product information regarding the availability of splash guards for the 2012 Passat and received the following:
As I am in Michigan, I can certainly appreciate the need for splash guards to protect your vehicle from the road debris and salt associated with winter driving.
Splash guards for the Passat are expected to become available to the market late this fall. Stay in touch with your VW dealership regarding the expected availability of them in your area.
So "late this Fall" could mean as late as December 20th. woo hoo, maybe Santa Clause will bring me a set or maybe the Easter Bunny. From July 2012 to September 2012 to late Fall 2012, I'm putting my money Spring 2013.

redneckracing...I'd like a set, too.
I'd also like a woodgrain DSG shiftknob. Do you know how to get one?

I purchased a set of the mudguards and they are fantastic! Tried two different sets of the non oem Chinese kits from ebay and the fit was less than perfect. The Shanghai VW oem kit from red neck is perfect! Will try and post some pictures, thanks again!

I also got a set from Redneck and they fit perfectly. I still need to put the back ones on and as soon as I do, I'll post some pics.

Anybody have a set of these to sell me? I need the OE ones that say "Passat" and come in the vw packing like the pics above, anyone?
