That price includes i believe 80 or 90 in labor, can't remember. The cable = handbrake cable..
And i didn't use cheap aftermarket pads either. Brand new calliper was 80.

Vw pads are 55, caliper is 80, cables are 25 each
Thats 180 plus taxes and to replace a caliper and brakes and run a new cable with bleeding would vary between 1.5-2.5 hours at 100 an hour. 450 is pretty close from dealer, to call bs on someones ad without knowing the full story is pretty inconsiderate.

Bump for seller, car is a good all around daily

by judging the seller and the condition of the vehicle at first glace by its pictures as he/she does not take care of their vehicle, it seems to me that nothing on this car is either a) brand new or b) taking it to the dealer for shop rate.

you claim to put the stock suspension back on from the coils, but yet you're not mechanically capable of putting some no-name cheap and used pads/calliper/e-brake cable?

I study software development, not mechanics. I did, however, have a friend who does know what he's doing help me put the suspension in, and can do the same putting the stock suspension back in. The car is 13 years old with 250k selling for 3k. The calliper and pads are OEM. It seemed as though when you came to see my car you were expecting a brand new car or something, and as if you didn't even read the ad thinking everything, including the suspension, are included. You even tried to bring my price even lower when the fact is, the car runs, and will keep running for quite a while. If i did not care for my car, i wouldn't have a full on list of things i've done to it in 2 years.
BTW you are the reason i don't want to let people drive the car.. you drove it like its a racecar
    Bump!

if you were half as smart of those mexicans where your 2 slow was built, you would read and comprehend what is being given to you my sluggish friend

now make the price 1900 and maybe you can sell this p.o.s. because at 3k a 2 slow with 480 brand new parts is not worth the drama, and stop making it seem that you have a friend who can take out the suspension, thats friend is YOU!

    i call

Just because you don't know how to remove a suspension and install a new one doesn't mean there isn't anyone in the world that knows how to. You claim I did it myself but i guess i just also happened to have a spring compression tool for the rear springs, because you know, those kinds of things are laying around everyones garage. No, my friend had one and helped me out with the job.
Get over yourself dude. I've seen GTI shells without anything under the hood going for upwards of 1500.

Typical honda boy leave the guy alone and let him sell the car, if your broke ass cant afford it or the offer was rejected, continue on. Simple as that. This isnt the first time youve brought yourself into someones business over the internet just like the fellow selling the bmw on here. Your rant is null and not everyone knows how to work on a car, otherwise technicians such as myself would be out a job. Grow up. All these claims of bs you sugrst means nothing. Hell i think your 600hp honda is a big load of **** but i dont go announcing that everywhere. Keep it to yourself

As for the owner, good luck with the sale. Up to the top

bmw - u challenged the vw guys to find a better and faster car than yours and i simply proved you wrong

vr corey - please tell me your shops name so i will never take my car there for brake pads, callipers and "THE CABLE"

kris - you must be crazy to spend 450..

bottom line is, the seller should always tell the truth and not lie about anything shady, after all this is a thread and people will post on threads and they will challenge you to certain scenarios, but that's the best part! i'm not making your thread look bad i'm just interested with an open mind...

But the seller may be telling the truth mister stroked 2.2l 700hp k04. You probably dont know anything except how to read blogs and watch pinks on the speed network. I didnt smash my car btw, a drunk driver had and put me into the wall in which they found 2 months after hitting someone else under the influence. I personally wouldnt want to work on your car anyways because it sounds like you may be a butcher yourself or backyard hack mechanic. Im a fully licence mechaninc who worked at volkswagen, honda, and currently and one of the bigger bmw dealers in ontario. So carry on your ways why dont you. Good luck selling your so called "mint" jetta btw.

Oh and just a little education for you, the "cable" is exactly that. It runs from your parking brake handle to the back of the caliper to engage the piston. These cables stretch over time and get replaced. But mr honda should know better seeing as how working on them you should know there just as notorious for seizing. Shouldnt you?

    Wow guys lol
And i forgot to add, the 450 price tag includes pads on both sides, one calliper which was seized, park brake cable and OEM ROTORS. My apologies for missing that and causing unnecssary backlash
