On my MK5 GTI, I have 4 compressors and 3 total AC systems replaced.
They are not using quality components for these systems any longer.
Sorry to hear about yours!

So here's the deal. 09 VW CC with 2.0tsi motor 51,000 miles. My ac was not blowing cold anymore so i put a can of r134 with stop leak into the system. Blew colder for about a week. Then nothing. All hot air coming from vents. Ran for over 15 min on way home blowing hot air and turned off car in driveway. Freon blew out of compressor blow by valve. Replaced high pressure switch still no ac. Any input?

The stop leak crap can mess up the expansion valve. Its great if you are trying to give someone else a turd by trading in your car, otherwise its a gamble. Good luck.

Adding your own refrigerant is fine as long as you realize its going to leak out again eventually. If you can find the refrigerant with UV or other dyes that can help you locate the leak, then go for it. Just stay away from the plug a leak stuff.

It's probably the same issue I had on my '12 GTI......the clamp on the hose going into the AC compressor (closest to the throttle body rubber coupling) causing a hole in the hose itself.

Similar situation here. Mine would blow somewhat cold, and then intermittently blow warm/hot air. I grabbed a gauge at work one day to see what it read, and it was a tad low. Took it to my buddy who has a shop, he evacuated my system and recharged it to spec, **** blew like an icebox that day, later that week it was almost back to the same ****, haven't put a gauge on it yet though to see if I've leaked yet. I will say it doesn't blow as hot, but has it's intermittent fluctuations of blowing nice and cold to somewhat warm.

More people against the fix a leak AC repair in a can. Really, don't do it.
