    Thread: It's the 1990s

I was never a super Seattle gurnger but I can't deny that bands like PJ or Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, STP... they all influenced me to a degree. Probably like Metallica did in the late 80's. The only band I've ever despised was Nickelback.... and we can all agree on that.

The 90's, I suppose, mostly were a time of freedom. I lived at home during college but my folks never bothered me. I could do pretty much what ever I wanted with in reason. I worked a **** tonne, made bank, and generally had a pretty damn good time.

From about 1992-1997, gas was mostly free for me. I worked at a full service gas station owned by a man that was a crooked as a barrel of snakes. Is is wrong to steal from thieves?

I remember once off of I-75 in TN or Kentucky paying .69/gal in about 1996? Even at the time it seemed almost free. My car got 9mpg on a good day, so that worked out well.

Same. Born in '87. The 90's was a pretty awesome time to grow up in, IMO. We're pretty much the last generation that remembers life without cell phones...didn't have one of my own until I was 17 and that was only because I was driving on my own and getting ready for college. Didn't have the internet at home until I was probably 8 or 9, maybe older. Ah, simpler times. My SIL was born in '95. Its scary sometimes how much of a difference 8 years can make.

Hubby and I bought our first house last fall. We had an extra livingroom type room and had no clue what to do with it. Coworker of his was trying to get rid of an old tube TV so we snagged it and hooked up all of our old game systems to it in that room. NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, PS2. We have a PS1 as well but never really played it. Between the two of us, we had a lot of games, but we've been buying some on eBay lately that we didn't have or lost over the years...Goldeneye, Super Mario World, Super Mario All Stars. Its pretty awesome. We also have a VHS player hooked up...gonna grab some classic stuff from my parents house this weekend to watch. Space Jam being at the top of the list to bring home

Are You Afraid of the Dark getting added to Netflix made my day last month.

I love the 90s so damn much, for so many of the things already posted.

Wow... you all make me feel old. (Graduated college in '94)

      The 90s were great though.

I would even group the years 2000 and 2001 (up to September 11, 2001) as great years. Everything since 9/11/01 has been very different and not as care-free.
