Okay, need some help.
Going in the dealership in the morning, want to get some advice on how much better I can do on the 2nd offer I've been offered through email.
Then break down on the 2nd offer:
Candy White 2012 GTI 2DR Autobahn (6 Speed): $28,798
Title processing fee: $125
State Registration and other state fees: $124.50
TX state inventory tax: 62.38
State Tax: 1315.50
Trade in: 7,750
Total: $22,675.38 @ 60 months 0% ($378 a month)
Trade in: $7,750
The trade in is a 2007 Honda Civic EX 2dr Automatic (new tires, battery, break pads, etc.)
Clean interior and exterior. Mechanical is perfect.
Been in 2 accidents, repaint front and rear.
Pinched Rails have clamp marks
Carmax wanted $6,500 / Autotrader: $7,125 / Edmunds: $9K (without accidents taken into consideration)
Really want the car $29k out the door and then $8K for trade in, think that's possible?
Quick feedback would be great!
Thanks!

Even with holdbacks, the dealer would be losing money on that deal. What you have negotiated seems like a great deal.
Even the trade in seems like a great deal.

See if you can't get 0% financing for 66 months thru VW. I negotiated a deal with VW and they extended the financing on my new 2012 VW GTI. That should help with your monthly payments a little.

You can't negotiate extending the 0% financing from 60 to 66 months. It doesn't work that way. The dealer you were working with must participate in the wholesale program, which allows the dealer to extend any 60 month financing to 66 months.
That is all. But the GLI deal you're getting is phenomenal. DO EEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTT!
So let me get this straight? Your engine is 1.8-liters, and my pop is 2?

I believe the current special allows to 60 months. I just suggested he have them extend 6 more months even tho it wasn't really part of their special financing offer.

Both dealers will say anything to get you to sign..... Show us the purhase agreement and finance contract when it is over...![]()

I believe you got it for 66 months. That wasn't my argument. The dealer was able to extend the 0% to 66 months because they probably participate in the wholesale program. That's all. If a VW dealer does not participate, they cannot extend to 66 months. Plain and simple.
