They are just your run of the mill cab forward truck sold by Daimler. The FG is medium duty version (between FE and FH), roughly comparable to Isuzu's NPR series.
You might find more info if you google by its real name: Mitsubishi Fuso Canter.

Does anyone know much about these? Thought I saw two for sale locally, although they may be 4X2 Fusos. How good are they off road? How cheap can you find them? Common problems? The turbo diesel engine+ manual transmission has me intrigued. I dream about owning a Unimog but they're out of my price range.

I don't what your price range is but i'm sure you can find something out there that would be in your range!
Years ago I bought 7 complete trucks for $800 total so I know that deals come around out there.
Mitsubishi makes a pretty nice truck but IMO you can sink a lot of money into it depending on what you have planned for it.
I really wish everyone would update their location in their profile!
Someone buy my car already!!

I'd like to pay under 10k..maybe closer to 5k for something that runs and might just need some work. I'm interested in the Fuso FG because it's smaller and 4X4, but all I find are 4X2's advertised. I would want something with a flat bed for use around the farm and some off-road fun with minimal on road use. I don't want a Jeep or regular truck. The Isuzu's don't come in 4X4.
