First VW of Reno Euro Show!!!!! 08/09/12

[Great Basin Euro]

Lithia Volkswagen of Reno is hosting a Euro Car show on August 9th at the dealership from 6-9pm.

7063 South virginia st.
Reno, NV 89511

This event will feature catered food, live band, bounce house for the kids, raffles, and event T-shirts.

This will be a participant judged show for all euro makes and models, water cooled and air cooled.

Show is free to the public and participants!!!

Classes
Bug 50's to 67
Bug 68-79
Bus 50-67
Bus 68-79
T3 and Thing
Best of Aircooled

The water cooled will have:
MK-1-2
MK-3
MK-4 (new beetles will be in this class)
Mk-5-6
Best Euro Other Audi, BMW, Fiat, Volvo, Mini, exotic, etc.
Best of Show Water Cooled
Best VW Other. Passat, CC, Bug, fox, Scirocco, Corrado, etc.
Under Construction (Primered, gutted, Race cars that show good style but are simply not finished.)

NOTE: classes may be merged to make for good competition.

Show staging is 5:30-6:30pm
Voting goes till 7:30ish.
Awards: 8:30-9:00pm

Yes, it's on a Thursday... The show is in conjunction with a city wide event called Hot Augest Nights which everybody gets pretty into around here. Having the show on the 9th simpley allows everyone involved to enjoy the other festivities around the area on the weekend.

And R32 guy, your welcome to come out as a matter of fact, we want new folks to come! Not sure what your complaint is but if you need accommodation aside from moving the event date, please let me know and I'll see what I can do.

I do agree with dan though on the date, a hand full of us work, plus a hand full us that take part come from carson and some from the dayton area, so to drive all the way up there to come home late and wake up early the next day to go to work wouldnt be the best idea

plus hot august nights is usually a friday through sunday kinda gig

so if it can be bumped to a friday, I think there will be a lot better turn out on the number of cars showing up and maybe even the number of spectators that roll through to check out the cars

Thank you for elaborating on a point that I felt was pretty cut and dry.

The bottom line is having a show on a Thursday is lame. Why not Fri. or Sat.? Would it cut into Lithia's profits? Seems to me like that is what is really going on. Oh well. I know my VW won't be there.

and with the current state of affairs at Lithia, I refuse to show any support whatsoever, be it purchasing a part, car, merchandise or even showing up to a Lithia sponsored meet.

You've lost the glue that held a few of the guys that were already boarderliners...

I can say this guy will most likely never be back. If it comes to purchasing another VW I'll head back to Vacaville where I bought the GTI.

Didn't make the show unfortunately, but on my way home from work I saw a few beetles, a VW thing, a mk1 rabbit, and a mk3 Jetta rolling together up 395. Very clean group of you, mad props, especially to one or two of the bugs.
I was in the green lifted Toyota 4-runner, gave you guys the thumbs up. I wish I had my rabbit out here I know no vw people in the area.
