I would have to say a Porsche 911 Turbo, a Audi R8 with either engine, or a MB SLS.

Any assortment of 997 GT3, this is a car that would make me drive to nowhere just for the sake of driving...

If we're talking about ultimate dream cars,,I'd buy a Cayman shell, and drop in a 911 turbo or a 911 GT3 engine. Honestly I really can't think of a car better than what I have that won't cost significantly more in upkeep, or on e purchase price.

Wow you got both, good to hear the 08 is still favored by some, I'll keep an eye on the 08's these next few years see how they do mechanically since I want one.

    Haha, not quite.
I have (one of) the hearses I've always wanted, yet I keep looking for other cars.

Very tough question and excellent thread

I listed my EVO IX MR the other day and after a few days of thinking, maybe this is the car for us, at this time. Have a family of three now, and something less convenient would get driven less, and likely wouldn't give me the smiles-per-mile the Evo does.

This is the reason I purchased it. I just really yearn for a car that is scary fast. Something you revere and respect, and are actually scared to lay it on! The Evo is fast, and I feel totally confident driving it fast...and the awesome part, even in weather conditions. Another reason I bought it!

I'll list a few cars that I can't get off of my mind and have long been there:

    Lotus Esprit

Evans LM (saw one of these at a gas station, outside of Road Atlanta. ****ing death. Had night vision...yeah, and it was forward facing..lol. Wonder what this was used for? lol)

Ferrari 348 would be the happy, and content car... if it were faster. But it's not.

In the end, I am looking for $200k speed for a $50k bill. Just ain't gonna happen!

So, back to the Evo... Seriously is a damn bargain for what you get

Maybe I am content and just don't know it yet

I honestly don't think just one car would stop me. Or even multiple. I think many of us would turn into jay Leno, finances providing.

Reducing all my needs to one car, it'd be the Mitsubishi Evo, probably a VI-VIII. Black, white, or dark grey. Probably an MR. I'd need track suspension and wheels/tires, winter or gravel suspension and wheels/tires, and DD suspension and wheels / tires.
