I've had my 2012 Eos Lux for about 1.5 years, and recently it has started exhibiting an odd and annoying behavior with the radio. This is annoying enough for me to post in the forum, but not annoying enough to warrant a trip to VW service and wait for hours for them to say that nothing can be found wrong.
I almost exclusively listen to XM radio, but also have an SD card inserted with some backup music for when I'm in tunnels, parking garages, etc... The car always remembers the selected radio source (XM) when I turn the car back on, but lately it plays XM for about 30 seconds, then switches to the first track of the SD card. It's almost like the radio switches over to the local content (SD card) when the signal strength is deemed weak enough on the XM, however; it does play live XM for about 30 seconds, and I can manually switch back to XM right away and confirm that there is sufficient signal.
So my regular driving routine is now that I start up the car, XM plays, shortly thereafter it switches to the first track of the SD card, then I press the "Band" button to switch back to XM which is where it stays until the next time I power cycle the car.
Annoying, huh?
Anyone else have this?
BTW, while I'm on the subject of XM, about a year ago they switched around a few stations on their service. I like listening to one of the new stations but my radio never updated the station labels. Therefore, this channel plays the new content but still says the old pre-switch label. I spoke with both VW and XM on this issue and no one could figure out how to fix it.
Old label on both - like the station name never got updated. I had XM resend all the data several times with no change. Like I said, it's a minor annoyance, but one nonetheless.
