is your carpet crap?

i really do love our new Routan. but, the carpeting in the Routan is junk. the passenger side actually slides out with ease. i mean, you can pull the carpet out from behind the plastic with 1 finger. it is not even tucked in tight. i know i have a USA Canada-Made "German" Minivan, but this is a joke.

I'll say it's not super plush, but ours doesn't pull out that's for sure. I know you bought a new old stock 2010--but it sorta seems that not everything is adding up. I assume that you just bought it--so that's an almost 2 year old van, that had Sto-n-go on the sides, now loose carpet that pulls out...... what's next? Something doesn't quite smell right here or is it just me. If the carpet keeps pulling out, take it to the dealer, perhaps it was cut wrong or the sill plates were not installed correctly? We have the Routan Monster mats in ours and they weigh a lot compared to the carpeted mats it came with. Any pics?

the actual carpet in ours is OK, the mats were garbage though. Monster mats fixed that

i agree nothing is adding up, but i don't think it was in an accident. they had 3 old stock 2010 Routans. i think they just did not sell. less than 200 miles on the odometer.

in any case, i really do love the Routan. people bash it, but my bro-in-law just got a $43K Odyssey and the Routan has it beat in many ways. lots of plastic in the Honda and we have some extra features.

that said, i am pissed off at the dealership at this point and i am waiting to hear back on my demand to put on roof rails...$1000 to do aftermarket. we will see. they owe me for a variety of reasons not even posted here!

Like I posted before, I did the Thule for $310, I got everything on a sale and free shipping. Even thru VW the Thule roof rack isn't a grand. They must be trying to make up the $9K discount. Here's the drivergear link to the VW/Thule for $470. VW Thule Roof rack I bought my stuff from LL Bean and Amazon. LL Bean had a super sale on Thule stuff at the time, they just didn't have the correct bases so I got them from Amazon IIRC.
