OK - so since I never got around to do one of these - I might as well do it now...

I have a 2010 Tiguan SE w Leather (came w pano roof and electronic folding mirrors and memory driver seat).

Mods so far:

• 50% tint front - 35% rear
• Chrome tip interior switches swap
• Savannah 19" two-tone wheels
• RNS-510 retrofit
• VW OEM RVC retrofit
• 9W7 Bluetooth swap (9w2 for sale)
• MKVI steering wheel swap (MKV multifunctional & control module for sale)
• Custom Headlights with LED DRL (2012 look)
• R-Line door sills
• Auto Lights Upgrade Kit (from Bold-Sport.com)

Future Mods:

• APR Tune
• LED Swap
• possible AC manual controls swap w 2011 manual ones (not climatronic)
• …and more - just cant think of other mods right now… open to suggestions though

how hard was it to install the Chrome tip interior switches? Where did you buy switches? How do you do it? Was the RNS-510 swap hard? I really want to add the nab and backup camera, but it might be too expensive and complicated to do. Wish I could find a place to install it.

The switches I had ordered them from ebay - they are oem. I also got the euro headlight switch but ended up swapping it back because my wife didnt like all the other options lol. As far as the install - I had actually ordered them prior of me picking up the car - and I had negotiated w the dealer for them to the swap before me picking it up. I dont know how bad it is - they told me they had to remove the door panels but i'm not too sure about that.

The RNS-510 was the easiest swap ever! I originally had the RCD-510 so it was pretty much plug and play for the nav - just needed to add the GPS antenna. The nav itself goes for over $1200 - the backup camera was around $350 (I think) - and the RVC install was a little tricky but if you take your time and you have some friend who can give you a hand - 4 hands is better than two

If you are not comfortable with wiring/tapping/etc - I would see if you can find a professional to do the install for you.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions during the install (if you decide to do it).

These are custom and they are a perfect fit - they look OEM and they work great (plug and play). Originally these came w halogen bulb inside the bi-xenon projector - but I wanted to take advantage and get a set of HIDs since my wife was complaining that the bulbs originally werent bright enough..

Not to mention that between the wheels and headlights you're probably confusing the hell out of the the other Tig owners. "Wait, it this a mid year post/pre-face lift???" "What the ???"

Now if I could only get some help with swapping out the manual ac controls to the round knob ones - I would be set

Got the door sills - will be installing them this weekend

It's an upgrade in appearance, but a downgrade in performance. The 2012 round knob HVAC isn't a true Climatic while the knobs on the Pre facelift HVAC are all true Climatic. A bunch of GTI guys are considering a class action suit over it since they are advertised as Climatic on the Monroney.

The seller states they are OEM, I personally do not believe that they are. However they are an extremely good quality sills and fit right on. I do not mind at all, they look so good and unique, well not anymore

They look OEM to me - the packaging and the vw label w part number looks legit! I'm very happy w the outcome

Did you get the RLine sill plate from the German outfit? How much did you pay with shipping. They also have the Tiguan sill plate which looks exactly the same as the one from China on eBay.

I ordered them from www.tuning-art.com --- they are based in Berlin. It cost me total w shipping 108.00 € which is about $138 USD. I didnt care for the Tiguan ones - thats why I went w the R-Line --- they look alot better!

Alright so I finally installed the auto light upgrade kit - very simple plug and play. Here is a pic of where I've ran the wire. It's only temp until I have some more time to reconfigure. I also enabled the coming/leaving home feature w the euro auto switch - works like a charm!

Looking at the pic on the rear door R Line Door Sill, it does not look like it is fitting properly at the rear end, was there a problem there?

I am sure it's just an angle of the photo and reflection, these fit perfectly. I have them too and couldn't be happier with fitment and quality (see my build thread below).

No probs w the rear door sill fit perfectly and no issues during install. It's just the angle of the picture I took w my iPhone
