Couldn't find this picture before...right after I bought it in summer of 2011.

hideous fiberglass grille, trashed front bumper cover with no lip, broken rear bumper cover, had been hit in rear and fixed with a white trunk spray painted black, hated the spoiler, bad tie rods, strut mounts, ball joints, bad brake pads, interior was so dirty and missing pieces, exterior was so dirty missing pieces, clear coat peeling on hood and roof, bald tires with belts showing, bent TSW wheels, bad wheel bearings, bad oil pressure sensor and oil cooler seal, bad thermostat, no fogs, broken door handles, broken side markers, stock lights and tails, broken rear tub, no horn, broken clock spring, trashed rain tray, no windshield wipers....ricer.

    Couple pics in-between...

    As it sits now...cleaned up!

    Interior

More to come, any and all comments are cool and thanks for looking.

    Car is coming along great.
At first, I was about to hit the back button. Glad I stayed.

Yeah from looking through your threads I see you like the TSW's...along with many, many other wheels!! Your red VR6 is f'in amazing, and the new GTI project is quite nice as well. Thanks, going to get the Centras tomorrow. Stoked.

So glad I went through with getting these. 100% original in very very nice condition. The guy had them for a long time. He said he only used them on the track at Watkins Glen, maybe a few 100 miles on them. Going to have to get some centers made for them. They are a 57.1 15x7 et42. :thumb up:

    I love the evos though.

These should sit nice once they are on, have not been able to do much because of school and work, have to wait until end of the week. Going to have to invest in some coils at some point.

looks like your headed in the right direction

Imo theres a lot going on with the front end. Im not really digging those curved eyelids, If they were straight across theyd probably look better. And also Id rock just one plate....either the euro or the VT one.

    looks good and clean otherwise

You know I see your point. Kamei eyelids non-Vortex approved, but when I did my headlights I had them off but I like them on. I think I might cut them to make them strait across, thats not a bad idea at all. The plate...been pulled over 3 times without my VT plate, next time police said I get a ticket. Not even a big fan of the euro plate thing but had to do it because of the 802.

Got the hoop-T back on the road. Did the rear rotors, bearings and pads and new exhaust hangers. Major PITA with all the crustiness back there but got it done. Control arms and sway bar end links next.

I forgot how nice all new brakes are. I think I need a new starter soon, or at least need to clean all the connections and grounds. Its been clicking, then I tap the starter and it starts right up. Always something. Cleaned it up today since I finally had some down time. Not to bad for original paint. Would love to get a respray but it won't be this season.

Not much to update. Back to school for fall semester on Tuesday. I would like to get some coils after I get my control arm situation fixed. Will see. Have some new eibach springs that have been sitting around might put on the GF's Cabby, then put the TSW's on that. Finally put the carpet in her cabby the other day. Got a nice one for 20$.

Been so busy with work and school I have had little time to do anything. Today I plasti dipped my roof though. It was so beat and looked really bad. Still looks bad but it's an improvement for sure, and new control arms are great.

Got a fresh alignment today at my friends work, then went for a nice cruise. I took off the Kamei eyelids and glad I did.

Put new parking brake cables on today, and plasti-dipped another bumper I had lying around for winter. Soon it will be snow tire time So nice as I have never had parking brakes since I bought this car. Went for a nice cruise and took some pics.

    New S-Line wheel:

This thread still exists...not that many care...
Yes this beeatch is no garage queen or show stopper...but I it.

My turd. Updates minimal. Cold as ballz in VT. It has been in the low teens for weeks...minimal snow.
My car has not wanted to start when it has been zero or below zero in the mornings...but it has not failed yet. I have been saving money and buying crap...being a pest on the forum as many of you know.

Dare I ever call this a build thread....I have not built ****... Some stuff I have got...more to get...couple months until nice weather again...and no school. Iza got plans for spring.

    Bubble cluster

    Ghetto...not the visors though

Modded some tails I had laying around...euro tub...however I need to fix a few things..

    OEM textured moldings.

Some nice BN OEM black mats...I put these away until I have something that would warrant using them

Some 7.5x16 et35 Borbet Type Rs...refinishing before spring...clear coat is crap. Not many of these around anymore. No they are not splits.

Photoshop of what they will look like...photoshop before you buy

    Finally....I put Macaque in it.

Negative...because I have the plate frame. Winter is getting so very old...one more month. I am also on the verge of a new endeavor...but we will see what plays out in the next few days.

Well I threw my Borbets on the black turd...need some new tires though....

There are other priorities at the moment....been a couple weeks in the process...but this should be on its way to VT very soon....hopefully by next week....just buttoning up the details.
    Finally.....no rust.

Thanks dude. Unsure at this point. Will most likely not be on the road this season. Will be taking my time with this one. Gathering parts, nice motor, some interior bits and pieces, possible cleaned up bay, etc...will only be driven in the warm weather. I looked for a long time...this one just felt right. It is crazy clean...that was number one priority

Well it is official...paying for the Surf tomorrow or Tuesday....then hopefully it is getting picked up in CA next weekend and being shipped 2,864 miles to VT in 4-5 days. I am quite excited. After looking for over a year I finally found the perfect car to start a real build with.

Will have some more pics and updates in due time.
