Unless you are doing a double-din radio, you don't need all of that.

If you're doing a single din radio you need:

    70-9003 (run your own accessory)
    40-EU55 (amplified antenna adapter)
    OEM or Universal Pocket.
12v Installation Services: Audio, Alarms/Remote Starts, OEM Integration, etc.

and Im looking at this head unit; I know Dual isnt the best, but I dont like all the flashy that other brands are putting out.

Are all these compatible/what I need to do a complete replacement? (Minus removal tools)

Yes, I still wouldn't go with a dual though.

Its not an issue of money. I can't warrant spending over 100$ for something that, for all intents and purposes, does the same thing. I am not a car audio guy, and will never be. I am replacing my OEM stereo because its lived its life.

I currently can't find anything that's not an LCD that looks half decent. They all have crappy, tweenish colors and gimmicks. I happen to find the cheaper HU's more appealing because they are downplayed, and not so flashy.

Thanks for your suggestion, and the inference that I don't have money. Way helpful.

No offense but you're avoiding other brand and units because they are "flashy" yet you're going with a Dual which is notorious for breaking.

We literally ordered some for christmas as a "gimmick" in which we would give them for FREE if someone spent a certain amount of money....we literally could not GIVE them away.

Look at a CDE-121, DEH-3400UB, DEH-1300MP, DEH-2400UB, there are tons of options with better quality that may "do the same thing" but is not the same at all.

Well, I appreciate the constructive criticism. I don't know any of this stuff, I don't really know whats good and not good. In other things, like computer components, you can still buy cheap, quality parts. I was hoping that individuals like yourselves might know something of the sort when it comes to car audio.

Ok, dual is off then. You are right, I wouldn't want something to break so soon. I will check out those other HU's you posted. Thanks!

Oh man, these are great N, this one is the best looking (imo) I have seen, short of a full LCD.

Pioneer is decent, correct? I have one of their home theater receivers, been happy with it. Do they fair well in car audio?

Yes. Pioneers are one of the best selling units on the market. They definitely are the #1 seller at my shop. Anywhere from the 1300MP all the way up to the Z140BH.

Definitely can't go wrong. If you just want an AUX, get the 1300MP, if u want a USB (which will charge ur ipod as well as control it) go with the 2400ub.

Well, I don't have a iPod, and AFAIK, there are not any lower end units that can do the same as you would on an apple device, with android. I know it will play music via AUX, but no controlling the music from the header. Ill have to think about which one I would prefer. I currently have a standard 12v USB charger in my car, but it sure would be a little bit cleaner having it all come from the HU when charging.

You can get a unit that'll control Android over bluetooth and display the song information, etc. (as long as it's not a Motorola droid as there's an issue atm with the Moto Droids sending the song info over). Thats gonna run u about 150 (DEH-P8400BH) also has HD radio built in, front aux, rear usb

Yeah, that bt is nice, but i think i an content with aux in, at least until a new car in a few years. I am going from a cassette adapter, so an aux port is going to be a great upgrade in terms of sound quality.

Wow. Relax. Simply put, you didn't provide that information before. So who was to know?

There are a lot of people that just have to have something and instead of waiting, saving the money, increase their budget, or research, buy junk. The head unit you posted is just that, as Frazier stated. Sure it's only $80 (and not flashy), and then another $80 when you need to replace it, and so on and so forth.

You came in here for help, and my comment was exactly that, just apparently not the help you wanted.

Looks like you're on the right path now though. Good luck!

I agree with you when it comes to the look of most head units these days. I have been looking for a new head unit, and the ones that I think look best are Blaupunkt: http://www.amazon.com/Blaupunkt-Toro.../dp/B008FYFBVG and Parrot: http://www.amazon.com/Parrot-Asteroi...eywords=parrot.

My requirements may be a bit different from yours, as I want a head unit that supports bluetooth handsfree, so that I can use the phone legally while driving. I probably should buy a new phone first, as my current (iphone 3G) appearantly doesn't support voice control. The price of a new head unit and a new phone (maybe a samsung s2), that I will probably have to postpone it until I can save some more money
