Thread: Pics of your privacy fence landscaping?

  1. 07-30-2012 09:42 AM #1
We just got our (6ft) privacy fence put in and it looks super bland. Our backyard is tiny and i was wondering if you guys could post some pictures of how you cleaned up your privacy fence so it isn't such an eyesore. I plan to put some bushes in the corner, maybe hang some flowers off it, mulch at the bas with some flowers. Just looking for some ideas, thanks!

I have a 6ft shadowbox privacy fence. Haven't done anything to make it look better other than kill all the grass (~6" strip?) under it. I did plan on putting some stone/bushes in the back two corners because it's too hard to mow there... but I haven't yet.

    So... in for pics

Sorry no pics, but I recently planted a row of privacy trees in the back of my yard.

I used a staggered row of arborvitae (thuja occidentalis smaragd) in the back of my property. Not the prettiest, but simple, cheap, low maintenance, and it's green all year. 3-4' trees were $20 each at my local garden center.

I planted them every 4 feet, staggered by 2 feet. I figure this will let them grow wider and they will fill in between more naturally than if they were planted in a straight line.

The corners of the lot have green giants planted.
