When you use the starter did you see the cams go back at tdc? Hopefully you didnt bend any valves.

I installed my replacement ECU(used) ,and when I use my Ross-Tech software, I go into the Engine 01 section and when I scan I get "no response from controller". I don't get the error with the original ECU. Any suggestions? This is my 1st time doing a ECU swap. Thanks!
Also, the replacement ECU has the exact same part #.

I'm trying to "code" my replacement ECU per the Bentley repair manual instructions(replacing ECU with used ECU).
Also, it does not start with the replacement ECU. Maybe my replacement ECU is no good?

Only time you code an ecu is if its an automatic ecu and since you have the same part number there is no reason to to touch it.

And yes sounds like its no good. Open up the ecu see if anything is missing.

No, not yet. I did return the ebay ECU, and found one locally, but the CPU slot was empty! So, they are getting me another one. The saga continues.........![]()
