unsure.... I think the rectangular one will fit when it's not in the case - I can check mine.... but IIRC with the case it's a tad too big... I kept mine in my rear parcel shelf.

Well... let me be the first to correct myself ... I don't know what I was talking about up there, but:





This is the euro with case... and fits fine. I probably got the wrong info from the seller I bought it from, and was too lazy to actually check if it fit. This is in my 2 door GTI, so maybe 4 doors have a smaller pocket? I doubt that though... but rest assured this one fits fine.

EDIT: I have to vacuum out that pocket apparently....

They only slide back into the slot/hole without the cover on them. If you leave the cover on them then you kind of lose the functionality of the door cup holders. Just an FYI.
