Starting to use pandora more often. My trips are short and there is too much compression/loss of range with sirius now. It sounded much better when I had my 2004 a4. Now it just sucks.

I have experienced the same issue in the past with Sirius cutting out for a second (just long enough to notice). I thought I was crazy at first and kept dismissing it due to obstructions (trees, overpasses). Only till I saw it occur going over bridges with no obstructions did I realize it wasn't me. Dealership told me prior to picking it up from service to contact SIRIUS and request them to send a "boost signal". I never did call them. When I picked up the car, I could tell the RNS-315 had been re-initialized and the problem has not reappeared since.

In many ways then this car is like herpes. Great fun catching it but not so much fun living with it every day. - Jeremy Clarkson

Not a fan of Sirius at all. Definitely not enough stations I care to listen to, esp for the $$. (Maybe 3, 4 at the most). I also hate all of the mail I receive from them for renewals, etc (with 4 newer VWs, this mail starts accumulating rapidly).
I will definitely tell the dealership NOT to activate this on my next new VW.

They've been calling me everyday, multiple times a day since my subscription ran out. I really rarely used it when I had it, I just prefer listening to my music than the crap that they play. I also don't drive long enough to listen to the talk shows.
They've literally been calling me at least 3 times a day. lol

any RNS-510 owners out there having problems with Sirius Traffic ? All my other Sirius Travel Link features work fine (gas prices, weather, movies and sports scores) but traffic seems to either take a very long time to load - 5 or 6 minutes - or sometimes not load at all ? The last 2 mornings i drove to work (about a 20 minutes drive) with NO traffic on my map at all but it was working on the way home last night..
I called Sirius AGAIN and they told me to do a factory reset - which i did - lost all my presets (phone, radio and Nav) and still i drove to work his morning with no traffic data.. anybody any thoughts ?

i'm about to install my RNS-510... and my free subscription expires today. So how do I get my subscription renewed (hopefully after haggling for lower rates) and then transferred over to my new unit? And can I haggle the Travel Link subscription price? I don't plan on keeping the music stations, just want Travel Link on the RNS-510..

A couple thoughts - when i replace with my rns315 with the 510 i got another 3 months of Sirius for free. I guess it depends if its a new unit or used. Peteski units are new.
Its a huge hassle to get the Sirius travel link turned on but its doable. Sirius has these radios MIS-coded in there system. call 855 260-5969 for advanced tech support and just keep pushing.
I have not seen or heard ANYBODY getting discounts on travel link - onoly on radio subscriptions
dont forget - rns 510 needs a seperate bluetooth unit AND it requires a decent amout of VAG COM work to get everything sorted with no fault codes .. lemme know if u need some help..

Do you have to call to cancel the free trial or does it automatically expire?
