Yup. It was in really bad shape when I got it from him. No brakes, seized timing belt tensioner pulley, no glow plugs, no exhaust and the diesel fumes would fill up the cabin and choke you out in minutes, and the list goes on.

yeah unfortunately, I did pop it out so it's not as noticeable, but its still mangled. I have another hatch that I already finished the metal work and fully shaved it. I just have to fiberglass it and paint it. I'm hoping to get that done soon, along with the rest of the body stuff I have. Full OEM R32 kit, boser hood extension, and some shaving

Awesome work and progress...both cars are sick. Bummer about the lip tho dude, is that all the damage that happened from a dump truck vs. gti? Lucky....
Yeah I did get really lucky. He merged into my lane as I was going by. I swerved at the last second and just the lugs of his wheel tore through my lip spartan style. I had my go pro aimed back on that quarter and it got ripped off and smashed into the quarter which left a small dent and scratch dug all the way to the body metal. I jumped out and stopped him just before the go pro went under his tire.

I ordered the inserts from ECS back in may when they were listed as in stock. Turns out they only had 1... What good is one strut? So I'm still waiting for them to come in. Any place else who lists them are way higher priced than ecs, and back ordered too. So I just threw the bags on my street lines until the inserts come hopefully soon. Every month it gets pushed back another month in typical ecs fashion

Hell yeah! It was my dream to boost it before I even bought the car. I just need to come across a large sum of money to buy the rest of the parts I need honestly probably not until late winter early spring at the earliest

Update... I put my spec sheet in the second post... Progress has been slow lately. It took 3 weeks to get the police report from the accident at waterfest, made the claim, and now I'm waiting on the insurance company. Which I'm sure will take a while. I started on the false floor but haven't gotten it finished yet. Went to VAG fair this past sunday, and I should have known it was going to be a bad day when I got up in the morning and found this.

I fixed that leak once before there's a split in the seam sealer in the cowl and the water runs down the firewall to the foot well. Its actually an easy fix, but non the less annoying. So I vacuumed that out, and then cruised the 2.5 hours to the show with some friends and had a great time. Here's some pics.

So here is where it went bad. I used to run 1" engine mount spacers when I was static low to help with axle bind, and raise the oil pan off of the skidplate. But since I have added the r32 spindles, control arms, and the air ride I took them out. So my oil pan has been sitting right up against the skidplate. Well sometime on sunday a rock managed to squeeze its way between the pan and the plate, and either when I aired out at the show or the couple times I hit the plate on the way home the rock got punched into the pan puncturing it. I didn't notice until I got home and saw the smoke of the oil burning on the exhaust coming out from under the car. It leaked a good 2 quarts on my driveway, some more on the shop floor, and I still got about a .5 quart when I drained it 2 days later. So I'm 100% the motor is safe.

I got it towed to the shop where I work, and now I'm just waiting on my steel pan to come in. I'm gonna armor the **** out of it with 3/16ths steel like I've been planning to do, just never had the reason / motivation. Where she sits waiting...

With any luck I didn't warp the pan to to bad with all the welding, and hopefully I'll be able to bolt it up without to much trouble.

I don't think I'll be cracking this one

Ballz I was not expecting that. My modded pan hits about a half inch before the sub frame. I guess I'm gonna have to get an exact measurement, and get my 1" motor mount spacers milled down to that height and throw them back in. With any luck they wont cause my raxles to bind. Which is why i took them out in the first place. Def gonna have to notch the drivers side frame rail after that too. 1 step forward 2 back. So much work to get done before h2o so little extra time

Seeing the car sitting in the shop everyday was to tempting. Wire tuck, and deleting some stuff before H20.

Well it took some very late nights, some serious dedication, and a lil help from some friends but I got the car together and made it to h20. Had an amazing weekend per usual. Didn't get everything i wanted to finished because I was so crunched for time. Ended up finishing it at 6am fri morning. Well anyways here are some pics.

    Driver side frame notch.

    more to come
