So I have an 81 caddy with a g60 swap. I didnt do the swap myself, I traded my mk2 vr6 swap (which I DID do myself) for it. It has the g60 gauge cluster and everything works fine except every time I turn the key off the clock goes back to 12:00 and the trip resets. I am installing a new dash a picked up an mk3 cluster due to its smaller size and it does the same thing so Im thinking its a wiring issue. From the cluster i have a plug with a ton of white wires that plug into fuse panel but the 6-7 random colored wires are not plugged into anything, with the exception of the plug with the double wire. Anyone have any ideas? I have gone through the bentley but it doesnt help considering I have a hard time reading wiring diagrams anyway. Thanks.

Forgot to mention, the truck is running a ce2 fusebox.

sounds like the constant live isnt connected properly, check that d8 is jumped to e2 and that'll give you constant live for the clocks

I thought the d8 e2 jump was to get the gauges working in general. My gauges work just doesn't remember the time or trip. I believe the the d8 e2 is connected, I changed the fuse panel the other day but I'll double check.
