So i'm surfing the inventory of A4's today and there are a crap load of 2009-2010 A4 premiums ... i'm guessing these are all coming off leases...most are still under warranty

saw one for 21k thats a 35k car new after 2 yrs...

    whats going on?

oh and most are auto's w/o xenons or navigation etc , the premium plus usually go quick..

I assume most of them are former lease specials.

this and doesnt that base a4 start at 32k? so id say 10k in 2 yrs on a expensive "luxury" car is pretty common

I changed my oil with diluted KY Jelly and I really like it. Drove it 3 miles no problem yet. Highly recommend it.

Not sure if serious - there's no relation.

Anyway, MY13 A4's are out now meaning a 2009 A4 is four years old at this point.

Base Audi A4s come with basically no features and you would have to option it up to what comes standard now in mid-level economy cars. The A4 Premium I test drove had only a couple options (not even Bluetooth) and the MSRP was around $34k. You pay a lot of money for the badge and leather as standard.

Love the b8, it'd be sweet to get a manual, swap in the S4 rear diff, an upgraded center, and go 2871 or 3071. It'd kick S4 ass, get better mileage, and be a sleeper. Yum

after driving a few i dont think id ever buy one. the interface used to change the climate controls and radio stations is distracting and the interior feels cheap.

I agree, I found it to be better than the comparable C-class and 328i when I compared them. The Lexus IS was nice too, but you get a lot more space in the B8 A4.

    Good luck with that...

Stock B8 S4's run 13 flat, if not faster.

Tuned with APR and their pulley only, capable of low 12's easy, some have dipped into the 11s.

Friend took his DSG APR tuned B8 and ran a 12.3@112. Just tune and pulley.

Nope, just assumed 400whp in a lighter car would win, and that a 4cyl would get better mileage

Obviously a modded S4 would win, but then again with the money you're saving between the two you could buy plenty of beer to make you forget.

It does seem like a nice car- with just the center controls, base key fob thing and cramped rear seat being issues.
Since this U.S. is all about bigger being better, I can see why this gen A4 in basic form is not overvalued on the used car market.

To me a luxury sedan means having a comfortable back seat too.

You're not really saving that much.

A base A4 + swapped LSD + upgraded turbo + misc stuff vs a base S4 (which standard has way more features than the base A4) is not going to be much of a difference.

As stated, a 2009 model car was most likely produced and sold in 2008. Thus, a 2009 car is probably 4 years old at this point.

I suspect like any entry level luxury car the reason is because there are tons and tons of base spec lease specials red tagged out doors and years later a small market of people willing to pay a premium for a used one.

My biggest complaint with the vehicle. When I turn the knob to the right, I'm expecting it to go down but it goes up.

Look how cheap 335i's are. The Audi is doing just fine.

Does anyone know why the B8 with 2.0t smokes so much? Almost as bad as an 80's W124 diesel. In the last month I've seen no less than three leave the light under light throttle with a huge black, sooty plume of smoke.

The black one in front of me at the light yesterday had "certified used" plates on it like the guy just bought it. When he left the light it smoked so bad you thought it had a B-Sieries Cummins in it. I would have been embarrassed. Hopefully it's not a hidden time bomb with the 2.0t motors.

Direct injection 2.0t's like to do that.

    Be Careful!!!
I own a 2010 and have oil consumption issues which audi refuses to admit. Seems like some 2009 and 2010 burn 1 quart ~1200-2000m. It even states in the manual that burning a qt/1200m is normal.
Ours is a sport model and the controls are laid out along the gear shifter which is much nicer then base controls.

$10k is a lot of money, but that isn't enough to beat an modded S4 if you sink all the money on a 2.0t. Unless you're mental enough to go big turbo on the car+ tune.

Oh and it takes close to no money to get an S4 into 11s FYI.

All DI gas engines soot at certain load points. It a byproduct of the technology.
