I'm going to be running DRC 268 cams in my new motor. I've decided that there wasn't much to be gained for my needs with a big valve head, but I need to replace the valves.
I see the genuine units are about $60 per valve, and I'm not looking to spend that if I don't have to. I need a good set of stock sized valves.
Any opinion on the valves the Four Season Tuning offers for my mk4 12v? They have "polished" ones and "not polished" ones.
How about the TRW valves that MJM offers? There's a big price difference between a set of those and the ones Four Season has, but I am unsure as to why.
I ordered the lightweight INA lifters and the supertech HD springs. Another user said my guides need to be cut for the cams, but my machine shop said they had to have all the parts to tell.
I guess I need new spring retainers, guides, and valve stem seals since I'd like a "new" head. Any other parts in there I'm forgetting?
Are the titanium retainers worth the extra money? Guides and stem seals look all the same.
