been thinking of doing this swap for a year or two and finally going to start.
is it just a bolt in install or is it a bunch of custom fab work?

Please start by searching for 24v swap. Much of this information is already posted here on vortex.

This is the exact responce I wrote yesterday in the "R32 swap in corrado g60." thread four threads below yours. Your question is pretty vague, it sounds like you havent done any research at all. Dont take that the wrong way, trust me I've been in the same spot you are. Just try and read as much as you can first and see what questions you have. Then start a thread and ask them. PM me if you have any specific questions. Ill try and help as best I can.

If not you have to make a custom trans mount and custom length axles. Use a 12v rear engine mount bracket as well as the front engine mount/bracket (whatever you want to call it) and everything bolts into place just like a 12v vr6 does. On the front mount/bracket you need to use a spacer on one of the bolts because the 24v blocks are missing one of the bosses that the 12v's have. If you search 24v swap you will find most of this information. As far as the wiring goes, I ended up going with standalone on my 24v swap. It made everything much easier than splicing harnesses together and getting the ecu immobilizer defeated. PM me if you have any specific questions, Ill try and help best I can.

ok so i did a little research and it seems the difference are wires, ecu and very minor fab work that you mentioned in the other post. i plan on keeping the o2a trans thats already in the GLX, other than that it seems like it will bolt just fine with the mounts and everything. does this sound better or am i missing something?

Yes, you are on the right track. The wiring part of the swap is definitely the hard part. Bolting it in is very easy.

I can do the immobilizer defeat for you and if you supply me with a harness i can Also make it plug n play into the ce2 fuse box. This also makes your oe vr6 gauge cluster fully functional, so im me if you'd like me do do any of that. Also i can offer some tuning options for the r32 ecu as well as recode it and eliminate the communication codes for can-bus to the air bag module, gauge cluster and abs module.
